“Beautiful room, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

We booked this room last minute based on trip advisor recommendations. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful and had a lovely view of the water from the back deck. Great location close to local shops and historic sites. Would most certainly stay again!!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

I have been staying on Martha's Vineyard during the summer with my family for over 20 years. We always rent out the same house in Edgartown and consider it to be our favorite vacation destination. This year we wanted to do something different for New Years Eve and so I decided why not try the Vineyard since we had never been there off season. After passing the Kelley house every year on the street, I figured we should give that a shot. And I am so glad that we did. First of all, the innkeepers are sensational! I have stayed at various lodging locations around the world, from hostels to 5 star hotels and everything in between and have never met sweeter hotel personnel. Make sure to interact with Charlotte, she is incredibly nice and makes the experience so enjoyable. To the facilities themselves, absolutely beautiful. To save a couple extra bucks, I suggest staying in the off-season. The lobby is beautiful and decorated for the holidays. The fire place is always going and you'll find milk and cookies every evening and coffee and muffins every morning. The room is incredibly spacious and wonderfully well kept. As for the rest of the experience, the Kelley house is a great place to stay in terms of location. Whether it is your first time to island or you know it like the back of your hand (like me), it is great either way. We went for New Years Eve and you a stone's throw from an amazing view of the harbor view fireworks. You are right downtown which makes things really nice for shopping, eating, etc. The greatest part of the location is that the Newes, one of my favorite restaurants on the island, is right downstairs, one door away. Great food, great atmosphere and a wonderful bar. If you want an incredible experience and know the island pretty well, give this a try for New Years Eve in particular- incredible getaway location!

We stayed one night because the sister property, the Harbor View hotel was only open during the weekend during the december period when we were at the Vineyard. Staff ranged from an extremely helpful front desk lady to an uninterested guy who smoked a cigaret in front of the entrance. No breakfast was available so we had to go to the only place that was open, the Main Street Diner (not a bad place for breakfast). Well that's the Vineyard in the winter, no problem, we love it any time of year.
The suite we booked (2nd floor in the Court House building was a bit outdated and worn and could do with an update.

My wife and I stayed at the property for three nights just before Christmas. All aspects of our trip were handled very professionally. Reservations were booked according to our desires and trip reminders were sent to ask for any further requests. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly front office staff. Charlotte was extremely gracious to us during our stay. Chelsea was very friendly as well. The evening refreshments (milk and freshly baked cookies) were a great hit. Every morning there was freshly brewed coffee and muffins. Our room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, the Kelley House is a wonderful value!

Stayed two nights at the Kelly house in December. The staff is outstanding, especially Chelsea.
The rooms were really comfortable and everything is within walking distance. Even the linens kept in the room were all top notch. Highly recommend this Hotel.

We stayed at the Kelley House in Edgartown for 3 nights in November, 2012. The staff were just fantastic - friendly and willing to answer our every need. Our room was spacious with a nice vintage feel. The bed was very comfortable. A continental breakfast of great coffee and somewhat greasy muffins was available every morning. The home-baked cookies served with milk every night at 8:00 PM was a nice touch! This hotel is right in the center of Edgartown and just across the street from the harbor. We didn't have a view of the water but some rooms do. The only negative was that the weather turned warm, and we couldn't turn the heat down in our room. I think the thermostat must have been out of order. We opened the windows, but it didn't help much. We reported the problem when we checked out.

A group of five friends stayed this past weekend at Kelley House, and we can't say enough good things about it. The location in the heart of Edgartown was perfect, walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and the local cinema. There is free parking on premises. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable (room 315 had a lovely water view with spectacular sunrises). We loved the morning coffee and muffins in the lobby (with a fireplace), and every evening there are homemade cookies, and cold milk, for the guests. Charlotte, the front desk manager, was a cheerful presence and answered all of our questions. The hotel is not fancy, and there's no restaurant on the premises, but the atmosphere is relaxed and relaxing, the hospitality outstanding, and the location can't be beat. We'll surely stay there again.

Room Tip: We enjoyed rooms in the main building. Ask for the third (top) floor. No elevator, but if you can ma...
