Our second dinner at Karoo was as good as the first. Tonight we shared the Combo appetizer platter which came with four different appetizers and three sauces, all very tasty from the Snail rangoon to the beef stuffed samosa, the fallafel and the chicken wing with Peri Peri sauce. Yum!
Entrees this evening were a very spicy lamb stew, yes it was spicy but my husband likes spicy food, my beef Bobotie (meatloaf) with an egg custard top baked on, served with rice and chutney was great. We were too full for dessert but last time we had the Malva Pudding, a rich traditional South African dessert, caramel cake soaked in a caramel sauce, definitely enjoyed. Karoo does not take reservations and it fills up early, we got seated right away, arriving before 6 PM. The restaurant was full and many folks outside waiting were told they would not be able to be seated. My suggestion to Karoo to smooth out the flow of customers would be to start taking reservations, that way there control on the flow of diners coming into the restaurant.
