Let me start by saying I am a hotel/inn/B&B snob. Expectations and standards are set high and luckily this time they were met. From the first response to the email that I sent checking on a date to the email that I received after our visit; the customer service was remarkable. Gordon and Jean were the perfect host/hostess- always there giving a lot of suggestions about the area and taking care of the needs of their guests. The attention to detail was throughout every aspect of the inn, extremely clean, beautifully decorated, serving the most amazing breakfasts and located on one of the most amazing spots on the Cape. We had a great honeymoon at the Fort Hill B&B. We stayed in the Nantucket Cottage which was everything we'd hoped for -- quiet, private, charming and relaxing. Even though the weather was rainy for most of our stay, we had a great time. The area where the B&B is located is absolutely beautiful, just down the road from some great walking trails. Jean and Gordon were friendly, knowledgeable hosts who had lots of good advice on how to make the most of our short time on the Cape. They even gave us a bottle of champagne in honor of our wedding! The breakfasts were delicious, and we devoured the homemade cookies and brownies Jean left for us in the cottage. We would definitely recommend Fort Hill B&B for couples looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday on the Cape. We hope to be back again sometime soon!

I am not a good enough writer to do justice in describing how nice our stay at Fort Hill was. With that qualification, let me try to convey a flavor of the experience. The house, yard, and surrounding grounds in the National Seashore are pristine. There are very few, if any, places left where one can stay to experience "the old Cape," what it used to be like. This is one of them. The owners, Jean and Gordon, have the unique ability to make absolutely anyone, regardless of age or interests, feel comfortable and completely at home. They are around and available with suggestions or to help in any way, as much or as little as you like, and do everything down to the smallest detail with such grace and ease that you never have any sense of how much effort they put into making sure your stay is perfect. If you choose to opt out of breakfast, they only ask that you let them know the night before. My advice - don't. Their breakfasts are a great was to start the day, and describing them memorable is an understatement to say the least. Perhaps a question by one of the other guests sums it up best; As we were finishing breakfast, Gordon asked if anyone had any questions. This guest relpied: "yes, just one question - what is your yearly rate!"

Recently, we celebrated our wedding anniversary with a stay in the Nantucket Cottage at Fort Hill B&B. It was a delight from the moment we walked in, with a plateful of homemade brownies awaiting us in the kitchen. Flooded with light from the many windows, it is the coziest and most charming oasis you could want. And -- dear to our hearts -- tons of books to browse through! The beauty of Fort Hill's salt marshes and woodlands were steps outside our door, so we could take an early morning nature stroll before tucking into a gourmet breakfast, elegantly served in the main house. Jean and Gordon are full of friendly information about what to see, eat and do in the area, always there for you yet discreetly apart to give their guests quiet and privacy. It was very hard to leave.
