“Very nice property for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

A convenient location, right on Route 6, near Cape Cod National Seashore and town beaches. Very clean room and bathroom. Lovely property, indoor pool from 3-9 feet. Volleyball net, outdoor furniture with umbrellas, grassy expanses, we found plenty of space outside of our room to relax after a long drive! The staff was more friendly and helpful than most I've met. The breakfast buffet for $9 is discounted to $7 if you buy when you check in. And we ate very, very well each morning-pancakes, French toast, Belgium waffles, hash, bacon, sausage, two potato dishes, eggs, made to order omelettes, etc. All without waiting for a seat or starting your car!
Now, I balanced those with a very lumpy mattress, poor WiFi reception(my teenager had to stand with her back against the wall to have steady reception for iPod) and a room phone that didn't work as the wires were pulled from the phone and the box. According to Margaret, the owner, "half the phones don't work as Verizon won't come easily". Her son agreed. Now normally I wouldn't care, but my elderly mom stayed alone in the next room and I wanted to check on her a few times. She doesn't remember how to use her cell phone any more. She had a working phone but her memory is tenuous for new details. I know Verizon is a problem as Mom is selling her rental home here; mom's phones work during rental season.

Room Tip: It is quieter near the street than we expected! No pets or bikes allowed in rooms. No smoking in roo...

We got a package deal and it was terrific. All we wanted was what we got, a clean , quiet place after days at the beach, bay and Provincetown. Good restaurants and Ben and Jerrys are so close you can walk! Pool is clean and indoors, breakfast is decent

We purchased a Living Social Deal and it was well worth it. The Town Crier is a small family run motel. The owner, Judy was warm, friendly, and very accomodating. Although the motel is somewhat dated everything was clean and well put together. The breakfast that came with the package was homemade and there was plenty of choices. We also had dinner at the Lobster Claw, which was part of the package, and we had a great dinner for half price. Would stay hear again without any hesitation.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the motel are the quietiest!

We spent an enjoyable get away at this friendly and clean motel. I was amazed that the beds were almost as comfortable as mine at home. We would most likely stay at the Town Crier again even without the living social deal.

What a trip back to a simpler time! This motel has all the uncrowded, easy feel of the 60s , along with the more modern room amenities like cable TV and wi-fi. The breakfast buffet was all home-made, bountiful and delicious -- just like grandma's cooking when I was young. The rooms spotless, comfortable and mine even had birds singing in the tree outside the window. The pool was pristine and nicely warm. The best part was we had it all to ourselves when we went swimming. Plus, you can't beat the hospitality. The owners and employees were so helpful and kind that I already feel like family. It was such a great experience that I am going back again to see them in a few months. Plus, you can't beat the low price or the convenience of the location. I recommend them without reservation!

Room Tip: Rooms 1-14 have the softer beds, while the other rooms have firm ones, so make certain you request a...
