We have been patronizing Amari's since it opened. We have always been pleased with the food and service. We chose Amari's for a small family engagement celebration we were hosting because the owner has always been present and assures that the reservations are seated on time and everything runs smoothly. I wanted everything to be perfect so I went in ahead of time to see if they could do a cake for eight and to see the choices on the menu for a toast. They said they could do a cake for the table and there would be a $25 charge--which was fine. The food was good and the service attentive. But, boy, was I embarrassed when they presented the cake. It was MINISCULE. I squirmed as the guest of honor tried to slice it into eight pieces. It was that same cake that most restaurants (much lower priced restaurants at that!!) present free of charge for celebrations. I checked the bill and, yes, we were charged $25. The total tab came to almost $500. It was a Saturday night in August and it should have been packed but there were empty tables. Obviously, things have slipped. There will be no more special occasion celebrations for our family at Amari's.
