“A break from corporate!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

Traveling with my dog typically means sticking with pet-friendly corporate owned hotels but thanks to Tripadvisor we booked two nights here. The location was perfect for a spring stop in Cape Cod because it was not too far to Plymouth Rock, Boston, or Provincetown. The owner was very helpful in his suggestions of places in the area, friendly, and accommodating.
The pet friendly room was dated but comfortable with easy access to an outside area for my dog. Housekeeping was efficient and also very accommodating with additional suggestions for places to visit once we were in Maine.
This affordable motel of days past was a restful stop for us.

Nestled in a cozy little town on Cape Cod, this motel is the most charming place on the whole cape. Away from the big tourist traps, its quiet, serene, very restful. Each room is decorated with a different theme, and each with a "front door" entry and storm door, that allows you to enjoy the lovely courtyard view with its duck pond. It truly feels more like home than a motel. Located within minutes of the cutest little downtown district with restaurants, shops, and a beautiful boardwalk to the beach, who could ask for anything more. Oh, and the management and staff are 1st rate in service and courtesy. And there is some fine homemade banana and pumpkin breads and eggs for complementary breakfast to boot. The price is very easy on the wallet too.
We originally intended to stay only 1 night, but with such a find, we extended our stay. After exploring the entire Cape , we concluded that this truly was the sweetest spot on Cape Cod. This place is definitely worth checking into.

It's all in the name! If you're looking for a place to get away that is close enough to explore all of the cape yet far enough out of the major city to feel relaxed, this is the place for you. We drove up and down the entire Cape and there were tons of Inns and Motels but none that had the charm of the Earl of Sandwich. The price was affordable for us being on a budget and very clean. The other places we saw looked deserted and unkempt. Earl of Sandwich also had a continental breakfast of boiled eggs and banana bread. The owners were friendly and accommodating. Definitely stay here!

My husband and I were going to be in Sandwich visiting relatives for Thanksgiving weekend 2013 and we were told of this motel. I have to say we felt right at home from the beginning, upon check in I noticed a dog on the other side of the door already missing ours I asked if I could see him. Since I was a animal person they were more than willing to oblige. Once in the room I have to say it was extremely clean and quit comfortable. Next time we visit our relatives The Earl of Sandwich will definitely be the first place we will call for availability. Marie & Tony

This was our first trip to New England and we only stopped here by chance as we were driving pass we liked the look of the place from the road.
After meeting the couple that run it we decided to book for two nights.
When we drove around the back we were delighted to see the upkeep of the grounds.
Wonderful duck pond and seating for an alfresco breakfast.
Screams of delight when our companions opened the door to their room, after discovering the giant four poster bed.
Absolutely Brilliant!
Good breakfast and friendly people.
Who could ask for more? Not me.

Room Tip: They are all good.

My name is Sugar Bear. My brother, Jackson Brown and I loved the Earl of Sandwich motel. The woods were great to roam around in, and the side streets were fabulous for our walks. We slept like dogs. Our only regret was that we wern't allowed to eat the rooster that woke us up on Sunday morning. But we overheard our people saying how great the homemade pumkiin bread was in the morning. We will be back soon. And we might bring our people too!

Stayed at The Earl of Sandwich over the weekend. Comfortable and very clean rooms. Queens have a four poster bed with a nicely decorated colonial decor. Beds and linens are great. Outdoor area has a duck pond with nice outdoor tables and chairs. Excellent service. Located along beautiful and charming Route 6A. Couldn't ask for more.
