“Can't beat the location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

As other reviewers have said, the Nauset Knoll is basic but the views are anything but! The room was large, 2 double beds with a couch and a chair, television with cable. No internet service or phone, if you can't unplug this is not the place for you. Bring a blowdryer if you need one. The room was immaculate though we spent most of our time outside either on a lounge chair on the lawn or on Nauset Beach, a two-minute walk from the motel. Prices reasonable for Cape Cod, downright inexpensive for being on the water! If you can get a reservation, go!

Room Tip: All rooms have picture windows facing the ocean, the sun comes in brightly through the blinds in the...

This small, old fashioned motor lodge is a gem of a time warp. The rooms are scrupulously tidy and clean with décor unchanged since the 60s (grey and pink tiles in the bathroom) and that is a delightful thing in my book! All the rooms have a view east to the sunrise with nothing blocking the Atlantic. There is a path directly to the beach and in June there were very few people there so I had the long expanse of silky sand almost to myself. There was no vacancy but the other travelers were quiet. The roads around are a walker's dream with each house more classically "Cape" than the next.

The manager was helpful with recommendations for sights and dining. The center of Orleans is minutes away by car and Chatham's charm and shopping delights are only another few minutes away as well. Remember to bring a hair dryer!!

Room Tip: Recognize that you face due east and nothing short of blitz curtains will block the light in the mor...

Clean and reasonable, ideal location. People come back every year for a reason. So many positives; negatives to be aware of: poor to no cell reception and no in room phone; pullout bed not very comfortable (but I've yet to find a pullout that is); biting flies outside room; rooms not darkened against sunrise. Bring bug spray and a sleep mask, go without Internet and air conditioning for a few days and it's a perfect spot to get away from it all. Absolutely gorgeous location, quiet and friendly and clean.

Room Tip: All rooms face the beach and sunrise. Some have 2 beds, others a pullout- go for 2 beds if you need...

Nauset beach is one very long, and beautiful beaches in Cape Cod. Of all the places to stay this is the closest. As other reviews have mentioned, there is actually a path that leads down to the beach via the public parking. At 9:30 am the beach stores open, and you can get your early morning coffee, within minutes. The Knolls property is very well kept and has a great panoramic view of the ocean.
Be aware of a few items, lots of Mosquitos so take repellant, no room phone, NO INTERNET ( good luck finding free in Orleans).
Rooms were older decor, but clean and comfortable.
High season rates were high, but I guess that's the price for being so close to the beach. Other places would require a drive and $20.00 parking.
In the restaurant comment I would add, there are plenty, but nothing I regard as finer dining. Lobster was double the price than I found in Dennisport, and I would say Dennisport had better restaurants.

In June, 2013, my daughter and I wanted to try this Motor Lodge since it boasted great views of Nauset Beach. We were not disappointed - the view will knock your socks off!! Rooms are very simple, but very clean. Bunnies run to and from the hedge and grass area. A big plus is that there is a path leading to the beach and to the infamous Liams - home of the best onion rings!! You can purchase lunch at Liams and bring it to the tables situated on Nauset Knoll's lawn - enjoy lunch with a fantastic view of the ocean!! I should mention that every room has an ocean view!!
Rates range from $130 per night (April 12 - May 23); $150 per night (May 24 - June 13); $190 a night (June 14 - September 2) and $150 per night (Sept 3 - Oct 20)!! Also,there isn't a fee for Nauset Beach since there is the walkway!!

I owe it to the Nauset Knoll to give it the accolades it deserves, but also want to keep this absolute gem all to myself. Read the reviews ... they are all on point. Location is top notch. Throw back 1950s motor lodge ambiance is charming, rooms are immaculately clean, plenty of room to spread out and take in the clear, wide views of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean in all her glory.

Room Tip: Bring your own mini-coffee pot, but be sure to pick up freshly baked goodies in the morning at the C...

I had a wonderful stay at the Nauset Knoll Motor Lodge. Located overlooking what is possibly the best beach on the Cape (with an awesome shack too!), it's a very simple motel, with large, but basic rooms (no internet either)... but the views are incredible and worth the price alone. The owners are very friendly and helpful, there is a lovely lawn out front in which to relax, have breakfast or just watch the ocean. It's incredibly quiet and peaceful, and just the perfect place in which to enjoy a relaxing, romantic break. I really liked Orleans too - nicely positioned close to many other towns, and a very nice place in itself.
