oh dear what has happened to this once wonderful canal side pub? As a local to Audlem I've seen this place change a few times with each new landlord / lady comes the promise of a refurbishment which unfortunately in this recent case is as flat as it's beer. Popped in for a few drinks with the other half and served by one of the most miserable bar staff I have ever seen... Played a few games of pool and noticed that the place was looking a bit (lot) run down and the place stank to high heavens. I had a Stella which was flatter than a big bag of flat things, the landlady was perched in the other room smoking her head off inside which was rather off putting to say the least. I decided to try another stella to see if the first bad pint was a one off but unfortunately no it wasn't. I asked the vacant staff member to try it and was greeted with the human equivalent of a rabbit being caught in the head lights. Some serious money needs to be invested in this place by the brewery, it's coming up for summer and surely the passing narrow boat trade some tempt the investment to be made?
