“excellent - deserves the accolades”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Everything about the evening was excellent - from the friendly greeting at the front desk, to the choice of table (we opted to sit overlooking the gardens), to all of the very knowledgeable wait staff, to the food. We shared a white bean crostini as a starter and couldn't get enough of it. For mains, the scallops were delicious, and the very generous portion of the duck was excellent. Desserts were equally good. Highly recommended.

“Exquisite Food!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Undoubtedly the most gorgeous meal I've had on my Cape. Tender, pan-kissed scallops. Decedent Crab cake. Silky, seductive Key Lime Pie. I felt as though I had cheated on my husband at the end.

“A hiddene gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

This restaurant is very cozy, comfortable and has great service. The food on the menu was different in its choices and descriptions. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and able to explain the different dishes and their tastes and qualities. The adult beverage drinks were varied and delicious. This was a wonderful experience. The dinner was delicious, the atmosphere comfortable and the service complete.

“Bliss with Burgogne”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

My son's 18 birthday and he wanted to celebrate with his girlfriend. So I headed out in search of bistro French and a reasonably priced glass of bubbles. The Red Pheasant supplies both in abundance. While it is not traditional French it is yummy and clearly a kitchen which respects French traditions. The pate is a country terrine, the escargot is garlicky and buttery. They also know their way around a simple steak, (simple fare is really the tipoff to a fine bistro). A couple of quibbles, first and foremost is their stinginess with bread, sorry but one piece of foccacia pp? The other is a matter of labeling. One of their desserts is called profiterole. Now I respect what is offered, (a cream puff the size of Cleveland filled with vanilla ice cream and drizzled w a little chocolate) but that's not profiteroles. Profiteroles are small cream puffs filled woth creme anglaise (sometimes ice cream) and served with a small pitcher of hot chocolate sauce. Call it what it is, and I am with you.

Thank you for your response and for celebrating your son's birthday at the Red Pheasant! Just to respond, we serve our homemade Foccacia bread by the piece so it stays warm but just ask your server for another piece and you can have all you like! The Profiterole is a story, it's my my father-in-law's recipe from 1977, the size is a surprise to some but it is expected by many as it has been our tradition for 36 years. I hope it was yummy!
