“The Cape Playhouse in Dennis, Mass is theatre at its best!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

The Cape was once a 19th Century meetinghouse - the original pews are still there! Stars such as Humphrey Bogart, Gregory Peck, Bette Davis played there. Davis worked there as an usher! You can see top notch Broadway, television performers entertain you at the Cape. I had meals at Capt. Frosty and Black Sheep "Bah" and Grill...both good eatery choices. The Cape Playhouse is definitely worth the visit!

One of the best local Theater companies on Cape Cod. Adequate parking, reasonable prices and it has outstanding casts during their peak season

“Snappy, witty, professionally performed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2011

This well-kept historic playhouse is a great evening pleasure for vacationers. We took in an evening performance of "Unnecessary Farce" which was a cute, fast-action plot with plenty of one-liners, sight and take gags, G-rated humor that was great fun. The actors were accomplished according to the playbill, and it showed. Tight cues, snappy lines and a brilliant script and choreography of jokes and physical action made this one of our Cape Cod highlights this season.

“Crazy about "Crazy For You"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2011

Saw this live production at the Cape Playhouse. The show was very well done - highly enjoyable, fun evening. The theater is one of the country's oldest and is very picturesque with overhead wooden beams and old seating. Must admit we were seated in the balcony and I had to wonder what would happen if there had been a fire as there is a very narrow staircase that leads to/from the balcony. As I can be a bit of a 'Nervous Nelly' next time I will sit in the orchestra.
