Description: Come and gather at a New England table! Our seasonally driven menus are a reflection of the rural landscape and come and go as the harvest is available. We celebrate our area farmers, foragers, and growers in our menus. Of twelve draught beers, six are always local. We cook from scratch, and source as locally as we can. A warm, friendly, local gathering place with food and drink at the center of the experience.

TRY the ginger martini. Hamburgers are wonderful. Entrees are delicious. Goat cheese panna cotta is fantastic.

Thank you for posting. But wait! We have a candy cane martini right now - white chocolate liqueur and other deliciousness! Maybe this would be a new favorite! Best wishes for the holidays ahead!

“A Careful Compromise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

There was a time when every New England College or Prep School town had an inn that was the center of social life in the village. There was usually a reasonably formal dining room where visiting parents would take their kids for dinner. Social life in these towns has changed and is much less formal now. Some of these classic inns have fallen on hard times. The Deerfield Inn has done what it needed to do to prosper. Spurred by a necessary rebuilding from a recent flood, the inn has emerged as a less formal, more pub-like place to eat. One member of our party grumbled a little about the new atmosphere but it is probably the only way to succeed in the new world of dining. We had a simple meal with soups, salads, and a roast chicken that all represented an honest value for the price. The service was attentive and cordial.

Thank you for your review! You have exactly eloquently hit it on the mark what we felt we needed to do when we had the opportunity to remodel that vast and formal legacy restaurant. Small formal restaurant, large convivial tavern, and much bigger bar. Thank you for your insight and for "getting" it. Huzzah! Best wishes for the holidays ahead.

“Excellent lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

Four of us had lunch here and we were not disappointed. We were welcomed upon arrival by Daphneanne and promply seated. The service was timely.

We enjoyed one of their draft beers from Lefty's only availabe here. We all ordered different items from the menu and all were very good and nicely presented. Prices were reasonable .

The restaurant is all updated and just a nice place to dine. This was a great start to our day of touring the historic homes which are right there.

“Dinner was a 'Turkey'”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

We traveled a long distance to meet with family and since we had been at the Inn before the changes, we expected a top-notch dinner. We were all disappointed. The meal was not served hot. The soup even luke warm. Too many potatoes, no squash, hardly any stuffing and not enough gravy and the turkey was dry. We all noticed that there was no cranberry sauce which is always a traditional mainstay. At the end of our meal,, we realized the table next to us had cranberry sauce. Our waitress said we could have had it (for an extra price), if we had asked, but no one told us. The Inn is a beautiful place for a beautiful traditional meal and the meal has a way to go to meet with the traditional surroundings. Good Luck.

I am so sorry your Thanksgiving was such a disappointing experience for you. How sad! I have made note of all your comments and they will be part of our wrap-up discussions on 12/5. I can say that whomever you spoke to about the cranberry relish was completely wrong. (If you could let me know her name, I would appreciate it.) Cranberry relish always comes with turkey, and it seems we failed to put the dish on your table as we did at everybody else's. There would never be an extra charge for this as it is a traditional "go with", as you say, and I am dismayed on many levels: that that could have been said, that we failed to notice that you were not happy, and that you had no relish. We did not meet your expectations, and we apologize.
