“Beautiful in Autumn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Classic New England 18th Century locale, original homes, tree lined streets, reminds one of the days past. One can take a tour of different homes or walk along the streets and take their own journey. Autumn makes it even more spectacular as there are a large variety of old trees in their full color.

“Historic Deerfield A Must”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Historic Deerfield is situated only minutes from the Mohawk Trail, a reasonable drive up Route 5 from the Springfield Metro Area, and about a 2 hour and 15 minute ride from Boston. Historic Deerfield is an actual of village of homes and shops at which you can take several optional tours or you can do what we did, just walk around after lunch at the Deerfield Inn and get rid of some calories while enjoying absorbing the history of the various structures, Plan on spending at least an hour walking thru the village. Prior to your visit to Historic Deerfield, you would be smart to visit their website to see what tours are going to be available during the period of your visit.

Came across Deerfield by chance on our journey from stowe to stockbridge , beautiful historic village , which has stood still in time . We didn't have a great deal of time here but managed to appreciate the houses and other properties around the village . Well preserved and well worth a visit

“A must see if in the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

I didn't know of this wonderful place until recently. I stumbled upon it while looking for another destination. I was unable to do the walking tour, but did drive -- slowly-- throughout this wonderful early history area. Each house, tree, fence and paths were a take back in time. I so loved the many houses with the old fashioned pane windows.
