Ok so this was a trip taken using reward points and we chose this hotel strictly because it was located within walking distance from our daughter’s apartment. Generally when you stay at a chain’s least costly property you set your expectations appropriately low and we had done so. I must say our expectations would have been exceeded even if this were a 4 star property. We arrived late in the evening and the front desk clerk, George I believe, could not have been nicer of more helpful. It was just like he was glad we were there. He knew we were staying on rewards points and congratulated us for that. I was floored. One usually get the “freebee: sneer. Everyone, and I mean everyone in the place from the housekeeping staff to the maintenance guy were pleasant and all made us feel genuinely welcome. We did have a slow running drain but we just mentioned it and it was fixed by the time we returned. When I needed a taxi for an early ride to the airport it was taken care of for me and they arrived right on time. It was obvious to me that the entire staff has been trained and customer service engrained in them. There are plenty of luxury brands that could take a guest service lesson from this modest hotel. Go see for yourself.
