“The place for HUGE portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

5 of us had dinner here on a Saturday night. This is a busy place. It's often full with a waiting line, so it's best to call for reservations. We did, and still had to wait almost 1/2 hour. This restaurant has several sections. One section is an attached railroad dining car which is old, but pretty cool. The portions here are large. Unless you are very hungry, or want a lot of food to take home after you get done, it's best to order the smallest portion you are able to. The Prime Rib is the bigget example. Even the smallest selection of Prime Rib is huge. The menu has a wide selection and the prices are very reasonable. The wait to get seated was long, but once we got a table, service was very good. The food is all very good, but not overly seasoned, which may be a plus for some, but some folks may find some of the offerings a bit bland. I had turkey dinner and it was very good quality and flavorful enough. Some had Prime Rib and felt it was a bit bland and needed some seasoning. One had fish and it was good. This restaurant is located on the north entrance road to Westover Air Base, off Rt 33, at 749 James Street

“Cute Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

What a cute restaurant! We are from out of town and our friends took us here for dinner. Unfortunately, the prime rib was sold out by the time we got there. The service was a bit slow waiting for our table, even though we had reservations and it was a bit hectic at the small entrance, but once we got seated it was great! The food was very good and has huge portions!

“Best Prime Rib on the Eastern Seaboard”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Bernie’s is an experience! It is an old railroad dinning car. Very unique! If you like Prime Rib this is the place! Not only is their Prime Rib good … it is also huge. It can be ordered in three different sizes … go for the small. Even the small is more than you will eat. The medium is way too much and the large falls off the sides of the plate.

“Good basic food offerings, great prices, nice ambiance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

Had lunch here on a weekday afternoon around 2pm and there was a wait for a table, when we arrived and when we departed, which speaks volumes. Typical diner fare, had a turkey rueben and a corned beef reuben in our party, both were large sandwiches with quality meats. Good service, clean bathrooms, nice ambiance. I would eat here again.

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

We went to Bernie's for dinner and found the food to be excellent and very generous portions. Reasonably priced and the wait wasn't too long for a Friday night. Our waitress was very busy but did a good job and was very friendly and helpful.
