“Quick birthday surprise, a treat as we expected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Took my wife to CBI as a surprise night away for her birthday. We had always wanted to stay there and it was worth the wait. Did the cottage ocean view room and it was outstanding. Fireplace and great views with a patio. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant (highly recommend this, the buffet breakfast is outstanding) and used their car service to do dinner in town. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and eager to engage in a chat. It was nice that it was "off season" and not so busy.

The problem now is I want to come back for my birthday!

Room Tip: If its nice, stay away from the main inn and do one of the cottages along the ocean across the road...

Had another excellent winter spa getaway to CBI. We are now spoiled and only want to stay in the spa suites and enjoy the full spa day experience. Fantastic room and great spa experience!
A yearly event for my best friend and I!

Room Tip: Spa suites are a must try!

My wife and I suddenly had a Friday off together, so we took advantage of the winter rates and treated ourselves to this extraordinary resort for a night (which we stretched to two). The valet not only expected us by the time we drove in, he knew where we were from and had a memory to share. Everyone made our stay comfortable and satisfying. We got in late, lit the fire and relaxed so pleasantly we could have had a lovely weekend without so much as leaving the spacious room with actual art on the walls and designed for romance all the way to the perfect down lighting.

The resort has everything we could want or need, including a fully equipped fitness center and restaurants to provide informal meals as well as fine dining. We were delighted!

I was able to enjoy a beautiful room in one of the cottages directly overlooking the water. It was perfect. Comfortable, clean, and very relaxing. Dinner at Stars was lovely, with excellent service and great food. The whole stay was excellent from beginning to end. Coming off season worked out very well for me with little to no traffic, so it was quiet and very pleasant.

My wife and I wanted a short stay at a very special place to celebrate her birthday. Chatham Bars Inn was the perfect place! There are perhaps three 5-star resorts on the Cape...and the legendary CBI is one of them. We opted for a Spa Suite located in a cluster of town home-type buildings separate from the main inn. A huge room, kind bed, sitting area, HDTV..and around the corner from the 3-side glass fireplace was an equally large spa...jacuzzi, sauna, enormous shower. And every amenity you could want. The town of Chatham is one of Cape Cod's gems...at the "elbow" of the Cape...and a wonderfully quiet, charming little village at any time of year. CBI overlooks the Atlantic from nearly every vantage point, and the staff could not be more pleasant, helpful, and gracious. We HIGHLY recommend!

Room Tip: Their website accurately portrays the various rooms, with photos. Lots to choose from.

We stayed in a Spa room- it was beautiful and spacious but the bed was too hard and the Jacuzzi tub was lovely but could have been larger. Spa services were great. Beautiful views and very gracious staff. While upscale, it didn't feel stuffy.

We went with family during July which is obviously high season but $600+/night is ridiculous. The hotel is fine but does not warrant those type of prices. The hotel knows they have a great location and set a price which they think is fair and if people continue to pay then it will continue to be that high.

Our room was in the annex (as are most). The room was pleasant. AC extremely loud as the rooms are old. I expected more updated accommodations. My sister stayed in the main building and I felt her room was better simply due to the fact that you expected a less modern room when staying in such an old building. The annex rooms feel almost like a condo complex. They provided us with a very nice crib for our 9 month old BUT charged us an extra $20/night for it--seriously when we are being charged over $600/night you nickel and dime a person on a crib.

Pool was very nice, food not bad for poolside. Overall nice stay but would come in winter next time. Cheaper prices and frankly the inn has that great cozy feel by the fire.
