“Decent, but way overpriced food for what you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Would not return. The positives: Great drinks and nice atmosphere. The negatives: overpriced even considering the norm in Chatham. The quality of the food was high, but the preparation was average at best.

“Great service, but over-priced food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

The Blue Coral felt like a restaurant that charges extra for location as opposed to food quality. The food was average and very expensive, ranging between $15-25 an entree...and seriously, it's not like you're paying for an ocean view. If you're looking for a good lunch spot on a summer day that costs less than $10, this is not the restaurant for you.

However, I must compliment the waitress staff. They were very attentive to our particular requests.

If I went back to The Blue Coral, it would probably just be for drinks at the outdoor bar and lounge.

“Best outdoor restaurant on a beautiful sunny day on Cape!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

We were in Chatham for the parade on the 4th. Followed the crowd here after the parade and had drinks at the outside bar. Everyone was having fun -very friendly waitstaff and owner. Try the macaroni cheese with lobster -OMG it's delicious!! Recommend the chowder too! White Belgian Ale on tap is crowd pleaser;)

“Nice oasis off the street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Sometimes I enjoy a an outdoor cafe where I can watch all the people going by on the street. However, this warm evening was perfect to enjoy an outdoor meal at the Blue Coral, which is tucked away behind the shops on Main Street. Our family group was able to enjoy each other's company without much distraction, or undue disruption from the staff. Service was attentive and the food was very well prepared. Portion size was reasonable (no leftovers tonight), prices a bit too high and drinks $9+ won't allow us to return, but for one night it was very enjoyable.

“Clueless waitstaff and overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

I had two problems with this restaurant. The first was the cheap furniture, hokey neon signs at the bar and general low-rent crab shack feel to the place that was totally at odds with the $30-$40 entree prices on the menu.

My main problem was the desperately inexperienced waitstaff that rushed my wife and I through our meal. The main course arrived within a minute of us finishing our starters. While eating our main course we were interrupted to be asked if we wanted coffee, and we said yes assuming it would come with our desserts. Seconds later two cups of coffee appeared on the table - while we were still eating and our wine bottle was still half full! We had three courses yet were out the door within 45 minutes of sitting down, and about $200 lighter. We had some good meals in Chatham but this wasn't one of them. The food was unmemorable and overpriced for what it was. Never again.
