“A work of art - amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

It's fitting that the food at Vers, located in the new Orpheum Theater in Chatham, is a work of art. With 3 small restaurants offering breakfast/pastries, lunch-sandwiches and dinner cafe, plus an elegant dinner, there is plenty from which to choose.

The quality of the food is superb and elegantly presented. My cafe sandwich was the seared tuna on brioche and my husband's stacked burger was hardly the usual fare. The portions are small and a bit pricey for the venue but the food is filling and memorable. The management is receptive to feedback and working on offering more value as they have only been open for a few months. They offer a large range of hand-crafted and bottled beer, as well as a good selection of wine and espresso.

Allow extra time to enjoy the atmosphere and a leisurely paced meal. Each meal is prepared with precision so the staff recommends allowing 1 1/2 - 2 hours depending on the type of meal. They also provide food to go or wrapped for the theater. This dining experience is a welcome addition to fine dining in Chatham and we wish them great success.

In addition to the food, you can combine your experience with top notch movies in the elegant Orpheum Cinema - offering first run movies and artistic films.

“Real Gourmet in Chatham!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We had the tasting menu last night at this new restaurant run by the former chefs at the Chatham Bars. We discovered it on TA, and were amazed at the inventive, delicious combinations that were presented. Service was not rushed, and wine list was quite unique with wines by the glass that were not familiar to me, but delicious! The quality of this place easily matches anything in NYC, and is a wonderful addition to the somewhat mundane choice in Chatham! Do not miss a chance to try this place, but make a reservation as there are only a few tables.

“FANTASTIC!!! Gluten free and vegetarian on the Cape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

I had lunch here while on the Cape. Very difficult to find both gluten free and vegetarian food anywhere but this restaurant served an amazing sandwich and the chef even adjusted to make gluten free. Then proceeded to Patisserie to buy macaroons from the pastry chef who studied in France...Gorgeous. Missing out if don't try these as well.

“Top Shelf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Had dinner at Vers with some friends a couple of weeks ago. We did the tasting menu and it was sublime. All dietary issues were easily resolved. Plate after plate of delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned dishes were served in a well thought out progression. Not too fast, not too slow. Time to talk and drink wine, digest a bit, and then onto the next. If anything, I thought some of the meat portions were too generous. Not something I come across very often. I would put this dining experience on a par with tasting menu dinners I've had at Gramercy Tavern and one memorable meal at a small, now defunct, restaurant in the West Village called Papillon. The chef was Paul Liebrandt, before his 2 Michelin stars at Croton. The wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. Knew the food and the prep that went into it. the cheese at the end was fantastic. Had coffee and a home made bagel there the next morning. That was great too. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

“Very refreshing, first class service, tasteful and creative food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Vers is modern, classy and sophisticated. I was warmly greeted when I entered, and was treated very well throughout my dinner. My compliments to all the staff there, they made me feel like I was special-it's obvious they care about making your dining experience top-notch. For my meal, first there was an amuse bouche, and then I had the Gazpacho of Summer Beet, an entree of Grilled Atlantic Swordfish, and for dessert the Chocolate Etcetera, with black coffee. Everything was outstanding-the chef has a creative flair and the menu with focus on seafood is fresh, tasteful, and refreshing. Highly recommended!
