The beach is about 2km long, and a wonderful walk on a beautiful day. There is lots of parking available (yes, it costs during the summer, but it's worth it) and I'd recommend going to the 2nd parking lot and then walking up the beach a bit to get to where you can have room around you rather than being right next to someone else. You can be either out on the beach or up in the dunes for some protection from the wind. Take both sunscreen and bug repellant during the summer as the sandflies can be biting at times (and they BITE!). A walk up to the end of the beach takes you to the entrance to Stage Harbour, you can see the now-disused Stage Harbour Lighthouse and the top of Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge.
