“New Go To Hotel In the Cape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Stayed in this motel for two nights over the weekend and we were sad we were only there for 2 nights! The place has beautiful grounds, room was spacious and CLEAN, pool was beautiful and clean, and the Jacuzzi worked! We like going to Nausset Beach and wanted to stay somewhere fairly close to that. I stumbled upon Pleasant Bay Village and after reading the reviews, booked a couple nights here.

I cannot wait to come back here! We were already trying to decide if we could fit in another visit here before the summer season ends!

We had a queen size room. The TV was a good size for the room, not that we were in the room that much anyway. It was super clean when we arrived. The deck out back of the room was pretty private and overlooked a water feature and tons of beautiful trees and plants. The pillows were a little stiff but we like our pillows super soft and fluffy. We also like to keep the room very cold and the air conditioning worked pretty well with our "polar bear" like tendencies.

The pool was clean and beautiful! Surrounded by chairs, free pool towels, tons of plants, shuffle board....just perfect. They have a hot tub that actually works! Half the time we go to a hotel the hot tub is "out of service." So we were so happy to end our long day on the beach w/ a dip in the pool and hot tub.

They have a game room but we didn't have time to check that out sadly. We did see the ping pong table and shuffle board though.

The only down side was that it was really hard to make dinner reservations at many of the downtown Chatham restaurants, which is not the motels problem at all. But if you are staying here and want a good meal, make sure you make a reservation days in advance!

Pros: my boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights as a 4th of July/Birthday getaway!
I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into our room. It was very big for a room with a queen size bed. The bathroom was newly renovated. The clothing drawers were new and there were plenty of them. We had a private balcony area with a pretty view of the grounds and we had a lot of privacy! That was a concern of mine since I've stayed in a B and B before and did not like the lack of privacy! Pleasant Bay was perfect! Very pretty grounds! There is also a turn down service every night. You come back to your room and find Godiva chocolates on your bed!
The location was only a few minutes from town by car. Very easy to get to! You are within walking distance of a small beach where you can go swimming if you'd like to. You also get your own parking spot in front of your room.

Cons:
The room had a musty smell but it wasn't unbearable. Bring a few candles or room deodorizers.

The pool was very busy. We decided to go in the middle of the day and there were no chairs to sit. People were holding chairswith towels as well. Pool/hot tub area could be better monitored in order to be sure every paying guest is able to use it. We ended up leaving and going to a local beach instead.

Overall, it was worth staying here. We enjoyed ourselves and were happy overall!

From the first phone call-very friendly staff! Beautifully maintained grounds & pool area. Kids liked exploring the paths-coi pond, waterfalls.Nice reasonably priced breakfast on site. Beautiful warm pool with nice pool towels. Really comfortable bed, linens & towels. Accommodations great! Stayed in 2 bedroom 2 bath-nice bathrooms, roomy, nice updated kitchen, back deck, front screened porch! Only wish it was on bike trail-road to it was busy & scary with kids. But can drive to other access points.Location great-good access to downtown & ride to Orleans. About hour from mainland & hour from Provincetown. It's a cottage/motel development that was upgraded to feel like a resort. Well worth staying here!

This was our first visit to Cape Cod and we had a great time. We stayed 3 nights at Pleasant Bay and loved the large room - although the bathroom was small, the comfy beds made up for it. Our son enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed exploring the gardens. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed our breakfast each morning.

We stayed at Pleasant Bay for our Memorial day weekend holiday. We took 2 double rooms and for two families.

You navigate through the curvy roads of Chatham village and if your GPS does not play-well you may miss the hotel - that's the only negative, so thought should start with that.

Rooms - You enter the premises and you see amazingly green and landscaped gardens, well laid out structure of cottages, water bodies etc. You enter the room and it's a wow feeling - decor and cleanliness of the rooms was far above expectations. Beautiful sit out areas, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds - you think of what you need for a good holiday and you'll find it in the room.

Staff - Very courteous and helpful

Food - We just ate breakfast at the resort, the most scrumptious Pancakes I've ever eaten - The pancakes are to die for, wish could pack some and bring it with me

Highly recommended if you are staying in and around Chatham - worth every Dollar we paid

We are from Toronto, Canada and decided to do a road trip vacation to Cape Cod. We looked on line for a place with an ocean view, but because our daughter is in a wheelchair the beach isn't much good to us anyway. After arriving at Pleasant Bay Village we didn't even care about an ocean view. It is a lovely hide-away with plenty of trees and flowers and ponds and very well landscaped. We had an end unit that had a ramp for the wheelchair up to a cute little deck complete with table and chairs. The unit was super clean and had a tiny kitchen area as well. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful in directing us to some excellent Cape Cod dining in nearby Chatham. Because it was our first trip to Cape Cod, we spent much of the time exploring. But the next time we come we wil definitely stay at Pleasant Bay and have more time to enjoy the beautiful Cape Cod setting.
