4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

A wedding was held at a nearby golf club and family and friends were booked at Pleasant Bay in 2012. It was a perfect setting for a Cape Cod wedding with adorable Cape style cottages, slate walkways, attractive plantings along the walkways and tall grasses off the deck that moved with the breezes. The comfortable decks and patios at each room allowed getting together with the other wedding guests. The pool area and ponds were stunning during day and evening. I think that the employees at the front desk could be friendlier, smile and greet. Perhaps the summer was a long one and they were wiped out so to speak , but no one was cheerful or welcoming at the first meeting. I would also suggest a website do-over. The photos do not do Pleasant Bay Village justice. The rooms do need a decorating update, but they were clean with a cute kitchen and new bathroom. I would love to return for vacation or a weekend as I really enjoyed the experience, the casual feeling and the cottage look.

We loved the Pleasant Bay Village. It was so cute. We have a family of 5 and stayed in one of the cottages which was just perfect. It was large, clean and had all the amenities. We also loved all of the gardens all over the property. The people at the front desk were super friendly and the kids loved the lobby with the bird! We would definitely come back toe Pleasant Bay Village again.

Room Tip: if you have 2 families staying, I would grab one of the cottages because they are two rooms attached...

Pleasant Bay Village has a very unique setting for Chatham and Cape Cod, and it really works very well. The exotic oriental rock gardens and waterfalls nestled among 6 acres of private woodland are just minutes from the town of Chatham, but the surroundings make you feel like you are in another world. We had an efficiency unit that faced a small hill with all these oriental plantings, including a row of bamboo and a small waterfall. It was very relaxing to look at and walk around.

We found the location to be very convienent over by Pleasant Bay, making it easy to get to Chatahm, as well as to Orleans and Rte 6 for the drive to Wellfleet and P'town.

The staff - from the front desk to the waitresses to the maids and maintenenace personnel - was very friendly. The sunlit dining room was just perfect for breakfast.

The Pleasant Bay Village is a "keeper" and a place to return to again. Give it a try. We were there over the Columbus Day weekend.

Room Tip: I would go with the Extra Deluxe 2 Queens room with the mahogony decks. They are at the back of the...

This place is very unique and quiet. A hidden gem in Chatham. My husband and I had a villa. Reminded me a small cottage. Perfect!! I would recommend this place to everyone and I will definitely be returning to this place!

Just can't say enough good things about the ownership, all the staff members, the grounds, the location and the wonderful ambience that has been created at Pleasant Bay Village! Owner Judy, Josh, Noah and Dan could not have been more helpful or more pleasant to deal with. All of the other staff members I came into contact with were absolutely there to be helpful and cheery - outstanding staff!!!! The grounds are just beautiful with very unique pieces of pottery, fountains, fishponds (don't miss the coy pond!!!!!) and other interesting things tucked between the widely varied assortment of outstanding plantings throughout the property. The setting is motel, cottage and stand alone houses in a very well established, very well planted expansive piece of property - very uniquely and tastefully done. Great swimming pool and separate playground for the kids - just a wonderful location. Close to a beach (easy driving distance), close to downtown Chatham - 2 miles +/-, and close to Route 6 for day trips to other parts of the Cape. Nice breakfast room overlooking the pool not to mention the great country breakfast which can be purchased - the price is right. (They also provide free coffee and cereal for overnight guests.) Outstanding place.....with a very comfortably unique feel...... run and managed by and a very, very helpful, accommodating family. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Talk to whoever answers the phone - ask about the different types of rooms they have and their locat...

After much research on places to stay and pricing in Cape Cod during the peak summer season, we settled on this resort, located in Chatham, as a nice spot central to the places we wanted to see on the Cape. We arrived quite early on Sunday July 14, 2012 from Pickering, ON driven in two days. On arrival we were pleased to find our room was ready. I liked the cottage style and spaciousness of the rooms. We were able to park right out front of our room which was nicely decorated with a beautiful freshly decorated ensuite, and a back door to a small private deck. The main building and dining, along with a nice outdoor pool were just a short walk through the gardens. The gardens were wonderful, hydrangeas in bloom everywhere, a wide variety of other trees and shrubs, waterfalls, and even a koi pond! A wonderful place to relax! The pool even had a unique bamboo forest that was interesting. We stayed for 4 nights while we toured the Cape and were very satisfied with the location, albeit we did a lot of driving while there. There's nothing within walking distance except Pleasant Bay harbour, however it's just a short drive to Chatham's Main Street, the shops and restaurants, and Chatham Bars, a must for gorgeous sun rises and a nice beach walk to observe the healthy population of seals that cluster on the nearby bars. There's quite a bit to do nearby, and it's thankfully away from the hustle and bustle of the mid cape. Iif you're seeking serenity, peaceful and relaxing surroundings I highly recommend this resort. I also want to acknowledge that this is a family owned business and we found our hosts very accommodating. Don't be afraid to ask for anything!

Room Tip: We stayed in a room close to the road, traffic could be heard, but not bad. I would try and get a roo...

My husband and I stayed at the Pleasant Bay village for 3 nights to attend a friends wedding. In comparison to other accommodation options, it was very competitively priced. When we arrived at the motel the grounds, the first thing we noticed was how pretty the grounds were and each unit seem to have a nice degree of privacy. After a speedy check-in we arrived into our room. My husband is 6ft 3 and when we walked into the room, I thought he was going to hit the ceiling - literally. The room was very clean and had everything we needed - plenty of towels, fridge, ice bucket etc... however the decor was quite dated. The bed was fine if not on the small side. Personally I have a bit of a phobia surrounding blankets so would have preferred a duvet. The room was cleaned every day - even when we had strange nap times due to jet lag and an excellent wedding.. Breakfast choices were really nice and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Overall it was reasonably priced but the room was really only ok.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road as it tends to be quite busy
