Our first trip to the Wequassett Inn was several years ago. We stayed over fourth of July and have been faithful guests ever since. We fell in love with the resort, it's location, the dining experience and of course the staff.

Back then, it was simply a lovely resort . They didn't have the fabulous new pool area yet, or some of the upscale suites they have added, yet we knew we would come back again and again.

To our amazement, we have seen this resort transform itself from quaint and beautiful, to absolutely breathtaking. It was only natural that a few years after our first visit , we were married at the Wequassett.

I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful the day was, or how accommodating the staff was. I can sum it up by saying that everyone in attendance raved for weeks about our incredible wedding.

Well, it's 2 years later and we just returned from our 2nd Anniversary celebration at yes...the Wequassett Inn.

Upon our return, we were amazed to see yet more additions to the already outstanding resort. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better...it did!! The new suites are what most of us only dream about having in our own homes. They simply personify the image we all have of Cape Cod.

Our dinner was spectacular, and presented as if we were the only guests in the restaurant. When we requested the shrimp cocktail that was not on the menu, the waiter simply replied "of course, how many would you like". They even went so far as to specially prepare a dessert for us with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. The hostess stopped by our table to thank us for sharing our day with them, and gave us a very thoughtful little gift.

We spent the entire next day lounging by the pool, with complimentary ice water/lemon in hand, listening to the sounds of soft jazz and surf.

I hear that in 2010, there will be the addition of a spa. What more could you ask for? Well....I'm sure they will think of something, because at the Wequassett Inn, they think of EVERYTHING!

Oh, and the cost of the rooms? Expensive. The Wequassett experience...priceless!

“Long weekend at Wequassett with a toddler”

We have just returned from a long weekend (July 12-15) stay at the Wequassett with our 15 month old son.

We booked a Premier Water View room and were assigned #35 because we had asked for one with a fireplace. The room was gorgeous (see the pictures). Plenty of room, a lovely bathroom, but really, it was all about the patio and view for us. #35 sits right on the waterside path and overlooks the cove. We were happy to find that it was on the end of the property where the pool and restaurants were, so our walking was limited- another plus, considering my son and my being 5 1/2 months pregnant.

The pool facilities were lovely. Very well kept and maintained, all three of us enjoyed them extensively. We avoided the beach out of personal preference. Staff was extremely friendly and professional. We ate via room service and at the Outer Bay Grille, again due to our son's age. Room service left a bit to be desired, especially over breakfast- pancakes were off, scrambled eggs were wet with the oil used in the pan to cook them, etc. However, our dinners were very good. Our experience at the Outer Bay was nothing less than wonderful. Food was flavorful, done to our specifications, and the hostess (Jennifer) became our son's new girlfriend and even played with him so we could eat our meals a little bit without interruption. For the parents out there, our son would highly recommend the hot dog on the kids' menu. :) When he saw Jennifer at the pool the following day, she remembered him and came over to play with him again and he was very happy to see her.

Housekeeping was prompt, speedy and professional. The property itself was immaculate, the landscaping gorgeous. Our room showed a small bit of wear and tear, but nothing that would have given me cause to ask for a new room. Aside from the room service issues, the negatives were few: We had one gigantic ant show its face the night before we left. Our check in was not at 3pm as promised, but at 10 of 4 in the afternoon. For most people, this would not be a problem, but for my son (who was desperate for an afternoon nap), it was not the way to start our vacation. Our smoke alarm went haywire on the last full day of our trip which was annoying (again due to napping), but I will say maintenance was quick in their response.

All in all, despite the small annoyances, we'd be happy to go back and I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a lovely and relaxing trip to Cape Cod.

Prior to staying at the Wequassett Resort, we had heard so many positive reviews from friends that we were sure our expectations were set unreasonably high. Not even close. The accomodations, amenities, dining and overall service greatly exceeeded all we had heard. Our Signature Waterside room was
spectacular with beautiful decor and every modern amenity imaginable. It had a semi-private patio with a water view and a private patio that included lovely landscaping, a jacuzzi and a stone gas fireplace. The room was almost too nice. It made the decision to go to the pool a difficult one; however, leaving the pool was equally as tough. Quite simply, the pool area with its gorgeous views of Pleasant Bay, luxurious chaise lounges, magnificent gardens and friendly waitstaff is unparalelled on Cape Cod. Regarding dining, go to twenty-eight Alantic. Whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner (or all three), the cuisine is excellent. Equally as important as all of tangible areas of the resort, the staff was attentive and genuinely pleasant throughout our stay. We're already planning on visiting again this fall.

We had a fantastic experience at Wequassett. We stayed in one of their newest suites, which were exceptionally clean and luxurious without being ostentatious in the least. Our suite was bright and airy with a view over the small inlet marina and as a bonus had a fireplace outside with comfy chaises to enjoy the flames. Everything was easily accessible - food, pool, beach, fitness room, etc. - which was much appreciated with lots of family and little kids. Every staff person was pleasant, eager to help and highly responsive. I would recommend Wequassett to anyone!

“Great stay for entire family”

Wequassett Inn Resort & Golf Club

Jul 4, 2008

Just got back from a stay at Wequassett. We were attending a family wedding. I must agree with the other reviews that the grounds, rooms, and service were amazing! The location was also fabulous. We were visiting from California and although there was plenty to do at the resort, we also wanted to explore the Cape a little. We made short day trips to downtown Chatham, Cape Cod National Seashore, and Provincetown.

The part of the other reviews that I didn’t agree with, was that the Wequassett was not recommended for families with young children. It looked like most of the people who said this didn’t even have children. We have 2 kids ages 6 and 8 and although they are generally well behaved we were a little nervous at first about staying at such a nice place. Our fears quickly vanished. The Wequassett treated our kids like royalty! There are too many examples to list, but here are a few…
1. We ate breakfast at 28 Atlantic. During the breakfast my daughter got hurt pretty badly and several members of the wait staff went out of their way to make her feel better.
2. The rehearsal dinner was a clambake. One of the wait staff members spent 15 minutes teaching our 6-year-old son how to crack open his lobster. He helped my son but instead of doing it all for him, he took the time to teach my son how to do it. Later in the dinner my son was teaching others how to do it and he was very proud!
3. My sister in law uses her jogging stroller to run with her baby every morning on the beach. One morning her stroller wheel broke. She went to the front desk to ask if there was a hardware store nearby. The front desk staff took her stroller and gave it back to her repaired the next day!

The kids also had lots of fun. They love the pool. It was big, warm, and had a large shallow portion. They loved playing at the beach. The resort had a free boat shuttle to take guests to a “nicer” beach, but we couldn’t get our kids to leave the beach on the property. The caught tiny minnows, found a huge horseshoe crab, and had fun finding lots of other little critters. We ate several meals at the Outer Bar & Grille and at 28 Atlantic. Both places had several choices of kid’s meals that were both tasty and reasonably priced.

As most parents would agree, when the kids are happy, the parents are happy and at the Wequassett our kids were very happy. They did not want to leave!
