“Great Value/Great Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2005

Since î read trip advisor fairly frequently, î would like to comment on our stay at the Queen Anne. We also stayed in August for 2 weeks in 2 rooms, (the Garden Cottage) and found not only the rooms to our satisfaction, but the proximity to the Children's Beach and town wonderful. During our stay, we often asked for excursion ideas and we can honestly say, we now know Cape Cod like a native. Thank you- Günther and Dana.
We also enjoyed our huge breakfasts each morning, the dinners proved excellent quality too.

Cape Cod is an expensive area in the high season, yet we found the Queen Anne înn to be a good value compared to other properties.

Stayed here end of August 2005. Booked 3 rooms, as both my kids need seperate rooms as they are older boy/girl. So these were the cheapest rooms, but in comparison with hotels on the rest of my trip, they were very poor value; small, poorly maintained even shabby. Basically I'd apply that to the rest of the hotel areas too.Staff were pleasant but a little amateur. Not convinced the owners were there during our stay.
Food was fairly good, that may be this place's stronger suit. In fairness, you also have to factor in the Cape Cod factor here. I had a look at a couple of other hotels in Chatham while I was there and they were seriously overpriced for what they were.I get the impression that this area is really milking its reputation, especially in relation to summer pricing. So maybe the Queene Anne isn't such bad value compared to the competition. But to compare to for example the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe which was our previous stop- for the same price, we had magnificient rooms, and you felt the owners had invested to get the product right. In this place, you got the impression the owners were keeping the costs as low as they could get away with, and the margin as big as possible.
So if you're looking for decent value, I'd suggest steering clear of Cape Cod, especially in summer.

My husband and I chose the Queen Anne Inn in Chatham for a romantic weekend away without the kids. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the Weinkopf's and shown to our charming room on the second floor with a fireplace and hot tub on the balcony. The antiques in the room are just beautiful and I was surprised to find a real wood fireplace which was lit when requested. Everything was just perfect - from the attentive, helpful staff to the clean, elegantly decorated room.

Cape Cod is absolutely beautiful in the fall and I would never stay anywhere but the Queen Anne in when we get a chance to get away. The food was delicious and the service impeccable! The Weinkopf's make you feel like a guest in their home. It really was a very special weekend and we have already made plans to come back for New Years!

I only recently discovered Trip Advisor, otherwise I would have shared my wonderful experience at The Quuen Anne Inn sooner! We are familiar with Chatham, usually staying with freinds. However, with two little boys it's not always easy to find a place to stay. This year we chose the QAI. It's always come highly reccomended. It was great. We felt so comfortable there with our kids. At the same time it was charming and elegant. We had a large suite with a pull-out couch and a hot tub on the porch. The boys loved their private swimming pool! However, the pool on the grounds was great too. Never crowded, nice and warm. We will absolutely stay there again! The dinner was one of the best we've ever had. The dining- room was romantic and inviting with a fire roaring in the fire place. Even in August. Next time, we might enjoy a fall weekend without those darling boys. Service was excellent too. They even found us a sitter so we could enjoy the dinning experience!

On our third stay in Chatham, we were unable to book our regular hotel so booked into the Queen Anne after reviewing the website
The initial greeting was non existent and we were eventually shown to our twin room on the ground floor. The room and corridor was filled with a musky smell, far from what was expected according to the website!. The cupboards and drawers in the room were unusable for our four days due to the pungent smell which transferred onto clothing. The bathroom appeared to require maintenance, (dripping taps, broken tiles)
The breakfast service was dismal. and we only received our requested ordde on one occassion ut of four, a task not overly difficult given the limited menu available.
The swimming pool ..well.. a disgrace if ever there was one. The surrounding fence was covered by overgrown plantation and the safety equipment (also located in the vegitation) was not accessible and had clearly never been prepared for the season. Fallen leaves covered the pool surface on our arrival and there was no sign of any pool maintenace during our visit, (or prior to our arrival!), non working shower, leaves being left to fall to the bottom of the pool and remain there for the duration of our stay.
Not a child friendly hotel, and our lasting memory of this hotel is the pungent aroma and lack of interest by the staff. We won't be recommending The Queen Anne!!

We just saw two recent negative comments which mentioned "bad or musky smell" at the "Queen Anne".
The inn did infact experience such a problem in the end of the summer. Effected of it were four rooms. The cause, as we eventually found out, was a leaky water pipe under a large (500 gallon) whirl pool in our spa area. Water leaked slowly over a large wood panelling while slowly evaporating, thus it became extremly difficult to find the exact location of the problem. In combination with high temperatures and humidity, this situation caused a distinct musky smell.

After finally dedecting the problem, the entire affected area was dissembled and completly rebuilt.
Something good came out of all this,we have now a brand new massage room and definitely no more smell.

We appreciate all comments about the "Queen Anne" on "Trip Advisor" and want to assure everyone of our best attention and service.

Sincerely,
Dana and Guenther Weinkopf, Innkeepers

Our fourth wonderful stay at the Queen Anne Inn. You cannot go wrong with a visit to the Queen Anne. It is a glorious inn in the perfect location. The staff is welcoming, kind and always helpful. The food is amazing. Breakfast is delicious and dinner 5 star. We have stayed in different rooms each visit and it just gets better. Rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The Weinkopfs are wonderful innkeepers and great people. We will visit again and again.

We stayed at the Queen Anne for 4 nights this summer. We had a corner deluxe room with a hot tub on the balconey. The room and hallways had a very strong musty smell to them which was rather disgusting. There were cobwebs in the room and in the dining room as well. The sheets on the bed were faded and almost threadbare in spots. The staff was excellent and very helpful, but I would never stay there again due to the overwhelming musty odor.
