“Best Restaurant on the Cape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2008

My wife and I live in the South End in Boston, known for its fantastic dining. We are self-proclaimed foodies and travel to the Cape several times a year. We've eaten at just about every 'nice' restaurant on the Cape and the Brewster Fish House is the best, bar none. It's less expensive than some other options, does not accept reservations (which allows time for a cocktail on their patio out front), and doesn't have a dress code to speak of. They do, however, have the most dynamic menu on the Cape, which won't disappoint. I would seek this place out at all costs. It's a small place, though, so don't plan on going with large groups.

“Cape Cod Crown Jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2008

After traveling around the Cape all day, we stopped here at 8:30pm, Wednesday, September 24th, without a reservation. We were welcomed and seated right away. Our casual dress (polo shirts and Dockers) was appropriate to the setting. All aspects of our evening here were spectacular—food, drink, service and décor. The creative seasonal menu delivered on flavor, texture, and presentation. The pear martinis were sublime—not just a flavored drink. Don’t miss the appetizers—unique and delicious. Entrees were prepared perfectly. And, the dessert cheese plate with honeycomb, currants, apple slices and crostini was truly exceptional. We appreciated the opportunity to enjoy such fine dining in a relaxed and casual setting.

“Great Chef...service was snippy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2008

A snippy waitress took away from what could have been a fabulous meal! We waited the mandatory half hour with everyone else on a Wednesday in September, but the hostess did not tell us that seating was available at the bar. Then the waitress acted like she was doing us a big favor....In spite of all this however, the food was so interesting and everything tasted wonderful. We will suffer the service to go again. This is a GOOD chef!

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2008

I loved this restaurant. It's warm, welcoming and delicious. The staff was really nice and knew almost everyone coming in which is always a good sign.

We had the calamari, scallops, grilled shrimp special and the creme brulee. All were delicious! The calamari was a little salty but still great.

Would definitely go back again when we're in Brewster again.

“WOW”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2008

We have been spending summers at the Cape for the last four years and our absolute favorite restaurant from Provincetown to Brewster is the Brewster Fish House. If you are looking for fried food or a fast meal or your typical tourist trap, then you'll want to avoid this place. The service is leisurely and the ambience is perfect for enjoying a fabulous meal. The only downside is that if you don't like seafood your options will be rather limited. But my husband, who doesn't like seafood, always finds something to enjoy. If you get there after 5:30, prepare to have a drink or two and wait on the benches outside. If you are with a group, just order a bottle of wine and enjoy the summer weather. I do wish they took reservations - but since we usually get there by 5:30 we make the first seating and are not left waiting. Of course, if you don't believe that this is a great restaurant, that's okay too - more tables for those of us who love it!
