“Beautiful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

My family and myself stayed at this hotel at the start of august. The hotel is beautiful as are the rooms. There is so much to do at this resort, tennis, golf, movie nights for adults and children. At one of the movie nights on the front lawn we met a lovely girl who worked at the resort her name was Alina she helped us a lot with getting us extra chairs! The food at the Ocean Terrace is exceptional the staff we very pleasant especially Ali one of the waitresses.

will be coming back next year!

It was a beautiful two days at the mansion. The people were very friendly, the view of the bay from the Terrace was awesome. The walk to the beach was short we were able to see a beautiful sunset. We didn't eat the restaurants, but I wish we had. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff was very helpful with all our questions about the area.

This hotel is smoke and mirrors and it starts with the name of the property. It isn't at the ocean..it is at the bay. The rooms are in Mansion, but they are really in motel style wings NEXT to the mansion.

The driveway, grounds, property...everything looks beautiful. The landscaping is fantastic, but the rooms are just ok.

The rooms have been upgraded inside, but to get to your room...you have to drag your own luggage up steps from the parking lot. There is not a ramp. Also, some days there is no room for guest cars because the property is heavily used for weddings. Also, the beach is not shared during the day with condo guests, but it is shared for night activities such as smores or movies. This results in a complete lack of parking for hotel mansion side guests on some nights.

The beach is nice for little kids because it is on the bay. If it is high tide, there is very little space for all of the guests. This is is only an issue for a few hours a day. The real issue is that there are NO bathrooms and food is very limited. One day - there were no beach umbrellas because it was windy earlier in the day. It took the manager (Michael) responsible for the beach and pools over three hours to come back to the beach after repeated guest calls and complaints to the front desk. this was a day without a single cloud and it resulted in a dangerous sun situation because Michael couldn't bother to find the time to get back to the beach to see that it was not windy. Employees at the beach were not permitted to make this decision. This is because almost ALL of the employees at the beach, pools, food service, restaurants are KIDS! They are temp summer employees with absolutely no experience and some do not speak English.

The rooms at the end of August are $600- $700 per night plus a daily resort fee of $28 plus taxes. For this rate, you are not allowed to play tennis. You have to pay extra! There is one small pool on the mansion side and there are never chairs available. One day there were no towels because the kid responsible for the towel shack was texting and left for the afternoon.. This was not fixed until an hour later when Michael finally showed up with housekeeping and towels.

For these rates, the staff should be experienced. For example, in restaurants...checks are brought to the table with no pen. Coffee is served with no milk or cream.

There was no bar soap available for the first two days of our hotel soap. They ran out. Ever hear of a store?? We had to use liquid soap from a sink in the shower. The housekeepers were actual adults and they tried to do a great job, but sometimes the rooms were not cleaned until 4. The housekeeping staff was very nice and did try to make the guests happy.

Finally, the cable Tv did not work for most of our visit. the only available channels were Disney, Nick etc. Great for our kids, but no networks such as ABC, CBS or NBC were ever available. This was not fixed during a six night stay.

This is a beautiful resort and they try, but it is NOT worth the money. If I paid about half of the rate I was charged - $300 per night - it might have been ok. If you want to charge Four Seasons rates and charge a resort fee - then provide the services!!!!!

Room Tip: ask for second floor on mansion side if you do not want to hear people walking above you

First trip to the Cape and loved it. Beautiful property, great service, amazing beach (with surprisingly warm water), and great location. Restaurants at resort were great and lots of good local options. Took some paddle boards out at high tide - which was a lot of fun. Definitely going back.

My wife and I recently spent two nights in the newly renovated Mansion Wing of this hotel/resort. The room was very spacious with fun, updated decor providing a nice, comfortable respite. As other reviews have mentioned, you do not have a water view from your room but it is a modest walk to the private beach and the bayside water can be seen from the outside terrace area of the main hotel building. Rooms are not inexpensive ($450 per night) but less than other resorts such as the Chatham Bars Inn. All in all, we would definitely return.

Room Tip: Because Ocean Edge hosts weddings and business groups, I'd ask for a room away from any group ou...

At fist I was a bit disappointed that we were staying in a new hotel style wing. I believe that the website is a bit deceiving as, all along we anticipated staying in the old house. But as it turned out we were quite pleased. After reading an earlier review about the hallway carpet looking dirty, I took particular notice and found it looked brand new and very clean. The vestibule from the outside to the elevator hall was a bit dirty and the glass was very dirty as well as an hot and slow elevator. But once in the hall and in our rooms, it was a wonderful retreat. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, and extremely quiet. We literally felt like we had the place to our self. Not once did we ever hear noises from other rooms or the hall. Our bathroom was tastefully done but felt slightly on the older side, but as one reviewer stated, this is the cape, it has a British feel. The view from the terrace is spectacular and the breakfast buffet was above average. For the price it would have been nice to have had some of the good Starbucks coffee "on the house". The rooms have a Keurig with coffee supplied, but we all know what clorinated hotel water does to coffee. The beach was awesome, and the grounds were very well manicured. Probably one of the most noteworthy and charming things is that the entire staff is young people from other countries working in the states to give them opportunity to experience the American culture. The young man who escorted us to our room, as well as the young lady waitress were a delight. We would come back and we would recommend this place.

First, this is a very nice place, with excellent food and a touch of Cape Cod history. The rooms are very nice, but perhaps not as nice as you would get for the same price at other resorts. Note that the hotel rooms are not on the beach (its a short walk) and you can't actually see the ocean, but this place has great resort distractions like... the beach, tennis, lawn bowling, programs for the kids etc. Some have said the rooms are noisy but we did not have that experience, it was quiet! It also has very good restaurants and access to a really nice Nicklaus golf course across the road in the other part of the resort. The Mansion family history is intriguing, so take the newly offered tour to add a little background to your stay. Oh, and visit the general store nearby, its awesome.

Room Tip: Ask if the view is a parking lot. Higher up is better on the ocean side.
