“Really relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend at the Mansion this past weekend. Our room was beautiful, and the ocean was a quick five-minute walk, tops. The facilities are great--the mansion has a bar and patio that is high enough that you can see the sea, clear over the treetops, and the grounds were gorgeous. My only complaint was that on Saturday, the resort was holding four weddings/receptions--cars were parked everywhere, and though they had valet for visitors, it looked like several had parked in the lots for guests. We wanted to head out for dinner, but had real concerns about finding a place to park afterward; we also had a friend who was planning to come by and have drinks with us, but the place was such a zoo, we just had him pick us up and went elsewhere, thus solving both problems at once. I'm not sure where they'd put more parking, but it's a bit of a concern on super crowded days. That said, it was a minor problem, and we were generally thrilled with our stay.

Room Tip: I'm not sure ocean-view rooms can really see the sea, as they're at about tree level, and on...

Stayed for a night in the mansion's west wing. Room was spacious, luxuriously furnished and well stocked with amenities. Grounds are beautiful and the adjacent beach provided an extra touch. Staff were attentive, efficient and available - be it by phone or in person around the mansion. Conference facilities were functional and supported by professional staff - working breakfast and lunch were above average in terms of variety and quality. Wifi was free. No negatives - would definitely return with family and friends for get always.

Even in the off-season, Ocean's Edge was an amazing resort. Just pulling in, Oceans Edge is a beautiful resort. The mansion rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The ocean terrace bar outside was awesome, the bartender was great, the drinks were excellent. The property is extremely large and and has endless amounts of places to go for walks or runs. The only complaint was the water at the Bayzo pub wasn't very good, but the food was great.

I recently stayed at Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club and was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations. My son and I stayed in the Villas - about .5 mile from The Mansion. The Villas are nestled back into the woods and we were placed at an end unit by the Private Sport Club and Pool. The one-bedroom included a nice kitchen, murphy bed and spacious living area. We traveled with my son's service dog - and we did not receive any problems - given the properties no pet policy - the staff have obviously been trained/made aware of ADA requirements for access.
The only issue I would say is that while staying at the Villas - access to the fitness facilities are difficult to get to. We paid the $25/day surcharge for access - however, it would have required us to drive down to the Mansion property and then locate the buildings where the pool and fitness center were located. We visited the private club that was outside our door and we were told that we'd have to pay a $20/person/day charge to access this club. I was so disappointed, as I was training for an upcoming triathlon and it would have appreciated knowing this before booking.
But, all in all - it was a very nice experience, very nice accommodations and we would definitely visit again.

Room Tip: If you want easy access to the spa and fitness facilities - do not stay at the Villas - ask to stay...

The Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club continues to be one of my favorite places to stay. This year I was able to stay in an upgraded 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, open living/dining room that was fully updated and very clean. Upon arrival the room was ready and the front desk staff was professional and paid attention to detail. There is enough parking and the available recreation- pools, tennis, golf, work out area, and beach are excellent. Staff is always going out of their way to say hello. The managing staff is very always making accommodations a priority.

Room Tip: Rooms be the beach are awesome. Very scenic.

Our last minute stay at Ocean Edge Resort exceeded all of our expectations. The amenities coupled with the unique characteristics of this charming, historic resort truly made it a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend—one to remember. The staff is superb, beginning with our first phone call with Jay, followed by more topnotch service with Renee, the Front Desk Manager. Upon arrival, Renee surprised us with an option to upgrade our original villa to an available suite in the mansion. We were delighted with the beautiful décor and amenities and decided to visit the pub to order food to take back to our room. The pub staff were outstanding….and extremely accommodating, even one gentleman going out of his way to find a cucumber for my Hendricks & tonic. We had a perfect getaway….one of relaxation and unwinding, enjoying our surroundings. All staff members from beginning to completing our departure with Jillian—were phenomenal. We look forward to returning, only for a longer stay! We highly recommend this property … it's most enchanting!!

I arrived at Ocean Edge for an annual business conference, having recently suffered an injury from a bicycle accident. I requested assistance in obtaining ground floor accommodations, but wanted to still share a villa with colleagues as planned. The reservations manager found a nearby suite, moved me and my colleagues into it, I was able to have a bedroom and bath to myself, and they honored our price package even for the upgraded villa. In addition, service staff from shuttle bus drivers to dining room wait staff were extra helpful throughout the three day conference.

Ocean Edge is an exceptional resort with unparalleled conference facilities, accommodations and food. We have been there many times but this year was the best yet. Also they have recently redecorated many villas and the smooth, silky sheets on the beds are almost worth the trip by themselves!
