While I have always enjoyed Kristen's and anyone can make a mistake, I found the service last Sunday (April 14) to be inexcusable. My daughter and I arrived at about 12:15 and waited for 15-20 minutes to be seated and another 5 to be waited on. We had no problem with that. What I had a problem with was that the waitress didn't bring my juice right away. I had to flag her down to get it, and we waited for 30 minutes for our breakfast (pancakes and eggs) while other diners came and went. When I mentioned it to her (after finally getting her attention), she said that there were 3 orders ahead of us. Then when the people behind us were served before us, I gave the waitress a look to which she responded "pancakes take longer" (uh, baloney. I have made pancakes and they don't take that long). Never did she apologize or admit that she had forgotten us or just delayed putting in our order, because she had spent so much time waiting on the two town cops who came in very much after we did. She blamed it on the turmoil (standard on Sundays I would assume) and made it seem as if it were our fault for wanting our food in a timely manner. Unfortunately, because it's ingrained in me to do so, I left her a couple of dollars tip. My husband told me that I should not have left anything. Needless to say, I will not be returning any time soon. While they won't miss me, it will make me feel better to go elsewhere.
