What a find tonight, we went had dinner at Slater's. I'd noticed a while ago they now offer beer & wine, so we gave it a try. Glad we did! We walked in the door were greeted by the warmth of the fireplace, and the cool rustic look. We ordered at the counter and grabbed a table. There is an eclectic collection of tables and furnishings, wood, marble, steel, a cool comfortable place. Gives it a retro vibe. They have a good selection of beers, I got a nice local IPA. Good wine selection too, my wife enjoyed a nice shiraz. We started with the sliders. They were very good. Delicious! The meat was perfectly tender and juicy, we got one each of brisket, pulled pork, and bbq chicken. They were good sized, big enough to share. Ask for a little extra sauce, it's worth an extra dip. Their barbecue sauce is excellent! It has a great flavor and a nice kick, without being crazy hot. I ordered the brisket entre, my wife got the ribs. My brisket sandwich was awesome. Very tender, very juicy a nice size portion, that came with cornbread, coleslaw, and baked beans. All were delicious, great flavor and texture to each and every side. The ribs were great too. The meat was tender and moist, with a nice bark on the outside, and a great flavor.
We're looking forward to the brick oven pizza. A real wood fired brick oven, it smelled great! They sell slices at lunch too!
Slater's is easy to find. They're located at 356 Main Street (Rrt. 117) in Bolton, MA. It's only a 1/2 mile off 495 exit 27 to the east.
Too be balanced, we got there at the end of the evening, not too much before they closed. The sevice was a little absent minded. We got the appetizer, with no utensils or plates. Othewise, we really enjoyed our visit and we will be back!
