My daughter and I stayed at Wylie when we visited Endicott College. This stay redoubles my wish that trip advisor would have a "good" category. Wylie has plusses and minuses, and is good but not very good.
Unfortunately, a snaffu caused an unsettling start to the stay, as we were given a room that had not yet been cleaned. The front desk person was professionally apologetic and blamed it on a computer glitch. Who knows?
Our room was sufficient--small, but enough for two people with one queen size bed. The bathroom has a shower only, although I can't remember ever taking a bath in a hotel, so I was fine with it. My complaint is that the floor of the shower was dirty--needed a GOOD scrubbing, and the paint above the shower had chipped off and was in need of repainting. The fan in the bathroom was not sufficient to clear the mirrors. . Otherwise the room and bathroom were very clean. Lotion was not included with the amenities. Because I am used to having lotion, I did not bring mine. The bed was especially comfortable. And the room had sufficient outlets, something that is not always the case. The free wifi is nice as well.
We had dinner in the cafe/bar, which featured typical bar fare of salads, sandwiches, and appetizers. My daughter very much enjoyed her buffalo wings and her dessert which was "chocolate lava cake." My caesar salad was boring at best. The chicken was not grilled. It didn't look or taste grilled. And the dressing was obviously out of a bottle.
Our package came with a voucher for $9 each for the cold buffet. Although $9 is a little steep for the buffet, there was a nice variety with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastry, bagels, hard boiled eggs.
The server in the evening was very good: efficient, attentive, and friendly.
The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly.
Good, convenient place for visiting Endicott College.
