“Clean motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

Old, inexpensive (for the Boston metropolitan area), out of the way, clean and well maintained motel with good Wi-Fi, refrigerator, microwave, and, of course, bed. Fast trip to Concord (Minuteman Old Bridge Battlefield site going across (not sitting in) rush hour traffic. Rooms are big enough that the desk chair does not bump the bed. Table lamp has power outlets for computers, a simple point that many inexpensive motels don't worry about.

Few motels are as quiet as this one, and few owners are as thoughtful. It is "old-school" in some ways (real keys, and just coffee and a pastry for breakfast), but the overall experience is extremely positive. The motel itself is set back from the main road, and the fact that it is within a courtyard helps keep it quiet. The larger windows are at the back of each room, with the smaller-windowed bathrooms at the front, facing the parking lot, so that adds to the quiet. Right next door is Bedford Farms, a superb ice-cream place that offers about 40 hard-serve flavors, plus many soft-serve varieties. The closest eatery is is just 0.3 mile away, an easy one-minute drive or seven-minute walk. This is Ken's N.Y. Deli and Brick Oven Pizzeria, at 72 Great Road, and the menu offers much, much more than just pizza. Concord is just a mere ten-minute drive, and from there one can take a commuter train into Boston; many run each day, and parking at the station is ample. Bedford Motel is a superb place to stay when in the Boston area!

Room Tip: Deeper into the "courtyard" will be more quiet, but all rooms are almost certainly quiet...

I came up to the Concord area for a wake and funeral. All I needed was a comfortable place to sleep that was clean. I had stayed here another time and was satisfied with my stay. The only other motel that was close in price was a Travel Lodge, but knowing it was part of the Wyndham hotel system, and you never know what to expect as they are so inconsistent in their quality, I chose not to consider it. The Bedford Motel is an older 1960's style motel near the shopping areas in town. If you want a high quality, more fancy place to stay this is not it. If all you need is a comfortable, quiet place that is reasonably priced for the area this is it. My room had sufficient space, a small fridge and microwave, desk, coffee table, 2 older upholstered chairs and 2 wooded desk chairs, a closet, and TV on a bureau. The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly. I could park right in front of the room which made loading and unloading quick and easy. There was no road noise at night as the motel is set back off the street. My back window opened up to an unsightly area behind an appliance dealer, but unless you stood up to look out the window you wouldn't notice, and you can always draw the curtain. Besides, overlooking a shopping plaza or a busy street isn't any better. Overall a safe, comfortable place to stay, and substantially less expensive than other area motels. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ice Cream stand next door. Package store next door. Several places to eat nearby. Close to historic...

Ended up here after spending some time in Concord in search of the spirit of Emerson, Hawthorne and the like... Concord motels are all rather pricey, plus the town is very touristy. Same can't be said of Bedford, a commuter town in an area where the Boston outskirts slowly get rural and rural Massachusetts slowly gets urban... Bedford Motel is more or less your only option - cheapish, comfortable-ish, all in all acceptable. It's set back from the street, so noise is not a problem. Rooms are smallish and somewhat basic, but clean; heating, sanitation and plumbing all worked, You could do worse. Oh, and there's a lovely italian breakfast place on the main drag.

This place is one of the worst motel that I have stayed at. The beds were not comfortable, toilet wasn't working properly, showers are outdated, and they were very stingy at giving towels. There were 4 of us and they wanted to charge us $10 extra/person for each night. Also, they were very cheap at giving us towels. The owners were brown/indian background. My recommendation is to pay a bit more money and stay in a brand name chain hotel like Holiday Inn, Days Inn etc...Its more worth the money and better service. We stayed as a group on back in May 2012 for the long weekend. The hair dryer was not working properly. When I asked for new towels, they made me walk all the way to front desk to get it. Really poor service so no TIP from us! Cheap and lazy owners!

Were steered to them by family living in Concord, and glad we were. Clean and comfortable for a remarkable price. Good icecream shop next door. Staff (I assume owners) were very helpful with printing boarding passes and steering to store for a needed phone purchase (and printing off a $5.00 Off coupon they happened to have for that store!). Will certainly stay there next time out.

Bedford Motel is clean and comfortable. Well equipped rooms. The staff is friendly and courteous. It is quiet, off the highway. Shopping nearby. However, the water was so hot great care was needed when using it. The door locks needed repair, and a shelf was about falling off the wall. With a little upgrading, would be better. Overall, adequate for a budget motel.
