I stayed at Stevens Farm this past weekend and wanted to write a review - the Farm is located in the beautiful countryside of Barre, MA. It is peaceful, relaxing and serene. The farmhouse itself is very old - close to 250 years! The interior is full of antique-y knick-knacks, meaning lots of porcelain dolls, doiliies, atc. The decorations are rather dated but add to the old-world feel of the inn.
The rooms are spacious, but lack air conditioning, private bathrooms, or TVs. They are very basic in nature, but comfortable. There is one small shared bathroom, with a shower, toilet, and small sink. It is a little cramped, but clean and functional.
Breakfast was good - the inn owner places a variety of freshly baked pastries out, with coffee, assorted teas, and then will make you most breakfast items at your request (i.e. scrambled eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, etc.). She is extremely friendly and talkative and very warm - it was a pleasure to chat with her.
The pool was drained and not operational, which was disappointing.
Overall, I had an "OK" experience here. It is great if you are looking for a very basic room at a bargain price.
