“Very Interesting !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2011

Me and my husband planned a trip to washington D.C. as a end of the summer bash for our 3 kids before they were to start back to school. I decided that I would take my family to the Hilton Garden Inn waldorf where I often stay on bussiness, I decided on this property because i'm very familiar with the awsome staff there. What started out to be a nice vacation ended up being a disaster. When me and my family arrived to the hotel a gentleman approached me and handed me a flyer stating he was giving massages in the hotel in a room , I was insulted and discussed that this hotel would entertain such unethical practices. not to mention that I rant and raved on how clean this hotel was and how the staff always welcomed me with open arms! I proceeded to enter the building to check in the girls were having trouble with the computer . julie and the other young lady at the front desk explained to me that their computer was down..me and my husband decided that we would wait, 10 minutes into our wait I noticed to put it mildly that woman started comming into the hotel half dressed followed by a gentleman with a folding table and handing out flyers offering free massages in one of the suites. I must say i was floored not to mention embarassed and shocked ! I asked to speak to a manager and to no avail there wasn't a manager insight.. so we waited a few more minutes when i noticed the bartender came over to the gentleman and asked him if he was a hotel guest and the gentleman replied that he was I must say that the bartender asked him his name and realized that the guy wasnt a registerd guest, he then told the gentleman that he would have to leave the property immediately and that he wasnt authorized by hilton to solict anything on the premisses. after we thought was all taken care of we noticed another guy outside the back door slipping people in and directing them upstairs.....at this point my husband was furrious and demanded that we leave worried about the safety and the well being of our kids. I was so dissapointed but we survived and stayed at the marriott.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. Our most sincere apologies for the inexcusable experience with our hotel during your visit in August.

I assure you that this level of service and attention is not normal practice or tolerated at Hilton Garden Inns. As the new General Manager I wanted to personally extend my apologies for this experience and equally important, to share with you that all necessary changes have been made to ensure that situations as you experienced never happen again in our hotel.

I sincerely hope that on your next visit to Waldorf, you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with the personal attention and service you rightfully deserve and expect from Hilton.

May your Holiday Season be filled with beautiful memories, special new friendships, laughter, great health and above all; Love.

“New hotel with questionable service and not very clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2011

I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Waldorf, Maryland on weekly basis. I have been there since April 2011. The hotel is new which is good thing. The rooms are standard HGI. The work out room has new Precor equipment with your TV for treadmills. The hotel is close to multiple restaurant including walking distance to Boston's. I do not recommend eating at restaurant for dinner. The food is not good. The hotel's service is not attentive to your requests. There have been multiple cases where there were no towels to wipe down the exercise equipment, the TV channels have not been accessible and the rooms have been dirty. I stay at hotel due to my Hilton status. There are definite improvements that can be made including food, cleanliness and attention to clients.

“Very nice Hotel...Horrible and rude service...Unacceptable for a Hilton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

Made a one night reservation for my boyfriend at this Hilton to attend a motorcycle event ...figuring he wouldn’t have any issues and receive top service staying at the Hilton… He checked-in in the early Friday afternoon between 12-2pm …the front desk attendant was so rude…he couldn't believe it...He gave my boyfriend such an attitude with every questions he asked.
When he went to check out Saturday morning, the front desk attendant on duty at that time was extremely rude as well…The front attendant was not only rude to my boyfriend but another guest waiting to check out, and a guest who called into the hotel regarding their reservation.
You can only imagine my surprise hearing all this from my boyfriend when I thought he would never have that type of experience at a Hilton. It was a very disappointing experience.

“nice clean hotel at good price, dismal staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2011

We have stayed at the hotel a few times. It is close to everything that we need when we are in the area. The cleaning staff is general really nice and the only ones whom too the customer service training offer by Hilton. Our housekeeper checked on us thee times. I thought it was unusal but nice.

The reception staff each time we have stayed has been the same. It is usually a gentleman who is checking his personal phone as he checks you in. For the most part, they are not rude, they are just dismal. They rooms are clean. The pool is clean and nice. The bartender can not make a martini so go somewhere else but he is a super nice guy. I think he just needs a little training. I am not sure why the staff is on dismal. So if that is what you are looking for, wrong place to stay.

Room Tip: Nice Clean Hotel with uninterested staff. Good bargain

“Comfortable Bed and Quiet Room!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2010

We travel to the area for the Redskins football games and usually stay at the Hampton Inn in Waldorf. We decided to try the Hilton, which was recently opened in April. The room rate was cheaper, the "dial" beds were a real treat and the room was super quiet. I'm a light sleeper so this was a real test. When I booked the room on the phone, I told Natalia about the allergic reaction I had to the Hampton's sheets. She called the Hampton and her regional manager to determine the detergents and then had the housekeeping staff wash my sheets the day I arrived. That is what I call superior customer service! We will be back whenever we're in the area.
