Awhile ago, The Washington Times wrote a review on Kentmorr and we decided to make the trip from D.C. It was an excellent choice for a Summer Crab feast. We decided to try it recently to see how they fared in the Winter months. Again, the food and service did let us down. We had great local oysters and wonderful crab cakes. Our server was very freindly and suggested some FANTASTIC items - The view of the Chesapeake Bay and all the boats tied up to the docks cemented the feeling that we were at a true Maryland Crab House. I would suggest this place to anyone all year long!!!

Some friends took me and my girlfriend there for a friend night. They had the all you can eat crabs and I had the crab cakes. We sat out on the peir/dock, it was execellent view of the water. The staff was great and the food was outstanding. Can wait to go back again. Would recommend it for everyone that likes to eat crabs. Will be going back many more times. Loved it.

Went there this past weekend for the first time and I will be going back, in fact I can’t wait. My wife and I did the all you could eat steamed crab special, and as always one thinks here come all the little crabs and paper shells. Not this time, the crabs were outstanding (not one paper) and the shrimp was perfect, in fact I even ordered another plate of shrimp, it was that good. Didn’t care too much for the crab soup it was missing spice and crab meat so I ordered my favorite cream of crab, OMG it was soooooo good. As far as the service, we could not ask for a better waitress then the one we had. I believe her name was Katherine and I wish she could be my personal waitress at ever restaurant I visit. In the three hours we were there she came by our table no less the 10 times to make sure we where being taken care of. She didn’t miss a beat. And to cap it off I highly recommend the “banana cream pie” for desert, this place was well worth the drive and well worth the money.

Sunday, 7/20 I drove my family 70 miles for my birthday to get crabs near the water. I passed up traditionally great experiences (Harris & Hemingways) to try something new. This was a mistake from the beginning. Other than the cold beer, it was a complete waste of an afternoon not to mention the gas for the drive.

Atmosphere. Don't believe it; go see for yourself. There are very few tables near the window and the view is of a pier with visiting boats. The only bay view is in the distance. Our table was right next to the door by the pier and the hostess stand. twice I was bumped by the people standing in line for the hostess.

The service was horrible. Of the staff I saw only one person over the age of 20. Our waitress acted as if it were a chore to take our money. Just asking for seating near a window started us off on the wrong foot. Next we made the mistake of asking about the available crabs which was met with more exhaustive expressions. Even my 13 year old daughter noticed her reaction.

The food was horrible. Only my son's hot dog from the kids menu was decent. My daughter ordered a broiled crab cake (which was fried). I ordered a broiled crab cake (which was fried). The crab cakes were small and bland with too much mayonnaise. My wife ordered King Crab legs (for $30) and was given TWO legs along with a knuckle the size of my fist. The Maryland crab soup should be called tomato vegetable soup since there was NO crab meat in the soup. My wife & I both ordered the soup. Why did we skip the crabs. At 12:30, they only had medium crabs. The tomatoes were bland and the string beans were from a can. The apple sauce was good and seemed home made. My fried fish and shrimp were overdone and inedible.

More poor service. Our waitress was consistently missing. We sat for over ten minutes waiting for additional drinks and to order our son's desert. It took almost 10 minutes to get the check which was incorrect and had to be revised.

I won't go back; will not recommend it and will offer this review to anyone thinking of going to the bay for crabs or dinner.

I would have had a better experience and better food going to Arthur Treachers.

I know I reviewed them before, but we went back for hubby's birthday, and it was such an enjoyable evening. Even teenage son (finicky) loved it! We ate in the enclosed patio, with the windows open and great view of marina and Bay. Appetizers: shrimp ajillo (lots of garlic, red pepper, olive oil, with bread to soak it up) and mozzarella sticks both wonderful. Marinara sauce was chunky and flavorful. Tuesday night is the night to go: price fix menu, 3 courses, $18.95. Starts with salad or soup. Hubby had cream of crab topped with sherry; I had 1/2 and 1/2... it's Maryland vegetable crab topped with cream of crab.... it sounds bizarre, but it was wonderful, and great for me because I limit dairy. Long list of entrees on the Tuesday special... we both had crab cakes... OK size, not huge, but what makes them is the Imperial sauce on top... very tasty and full of crab. Other good choices included pound of spiced shrimp, grilled salmon, prime rib, chicken & rib combo, filet mignon ($2.50 extra). It was a very good selection. Each entree comes with a side order. I had mashed sweet potatoes with walnuts; hubby had stewed tomatoes with zucchini, teenage son had applesauce and mashed potatoes with his mahi-mahi. Everyone was very happy. Desserts: Recommend the rum cake! Moist and flavorful. Key lime: a little different from the norm, but pretty good. More like a sweet cheesecake/mousse. Hubby and son had brought along fishing poles, and after dinner, they fished from the pier outside the river and caught two that they threw back. The restaurant let me continue to sit inside (not a busy time yet... we ate early). The food, atmosphere, service are all stellar, and we will definitely go back for special occasions, although if we lived closer, it would be more often than that!
