I was nervous about staying here after reading some of the reviews other people wrote. Check-in was fast, and the folks behind the (what looked like bullet proof glass enclosed) counter were somewhat friendly, even though it was hard to understand what they were saying.
Parking is VERY limited! We got there early before a lot of people checked in so we got a spot and didn't move the car until the day we left.
Their internet doesn't work unless you go to the lobby for wireless, or they have one computer you can use. When we went to the lobby to use the wireless, there were other guests complaining about the limited parking. One man requested a wake up call so that he could go put money in the parking meter across the street, he said if he didn't receive that call, he was going to hold the hotel responsible if he got a parking ticket. He was not pleased at all.
On the second day of our trip, when we came back to the hotel after a long, tiring day, we went to our room to find that we couldn't open it. Thinking that the housekeeper took our stuff and dead-bolted the door somehow, we went to the front desk and they had 1 person working who was so confused because she had to check in a group. After waiting for a half hour for the girl to check in the group, we told her our problem and thankfully, the maintenance man came to our rescue and got us in our room and nothing was taken.
The walk from the hotel from the metro is about 5 or 6 blocks. It is a pretty scary walk if you are alone. Underneath the bridge smelled like urine by the way. There were lots of homeless people hanging around the 7-11 located just a block from the hotel as well.
To sum it all up, if you do stay here, the rooms are ok....just basic hotel rooms with beat up bathrooms. The only thing I actually liked about this place was the price, and they give discounts to AAA members.
If you aren't on a budget...or even if you are....spend the little extra $20 a night and stay downtown, or in another suburb of the city.
