I am not a person who gravitates to animals normally, but what I enjoy about this zoo is that they have many and diverse animals. The animals look well cared for; they are in natural surroundings, and they actively move around. (If I am going to look at a panther, bison, or peacock, I want to see him moving around, not sleeping.) For a zoo that doesn't charge admission (but accepts donations), it is a really nice place to visit with or without children. I have taken my children there more than once and will no doubt go next time I am in Salisbury.
