“Amazing Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Went to St. Michaels in February and Ava's was recommended by a local. Even in the off-season the restaurant was very crowded and we waited for a few minutes at the bar section. We were seated and ordered the wasabi panko oysters, homemade meatball app, and thai chili chicken pizza. The food was simply amazing and I've been dreaming about the oysters ever since! They are famous for the meatballs, very tasty and covered in red sauce and cheese, simply divine. The wine list is extensive as well and there were many other tempting choices on the menu. Would love to return again to try other selections and have more wasabi oysters!! The service was top-notch as well. A+++++

“Worth the Wait”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

Came in around 7:45 on a Saturday night- packed!! They said it was about a 20-30 min wait and took our cell number to send a text when our table was ready. Meanwhile we went down the street for a drink. Ended up only waiting 10 or 15 min- yay! Got a great table by the window. We got the turkey panini and a bacon cheeseburger; both were delicious! Service was efficient considering the amount of people in the restaurant. Will definitely return- I want to try the pizza!

“Excellent spot for a late meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2014

Even though Pizzeria is in the name, we had pasta. And it was excellent. Also a good wine list. And very friendly wait staff.

“Best pizza since leaving NJ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

We grew up in NJ and pizza is an institution there. Since retiring to the Delaware Beaches; we have not been thrilled with the pizza and have only 1 or 2 places that we enjoy. Ava's took me back to NJ. The special pizza when we were there was pork, pickles, red onion, and gruyere cheese. It was drizzled with dijon cream after coming out of the brick oven. Truly one of the best flavor combinations I have ever experienced. You have got to try Ava's if you like pizza.

“Amazing Pizza!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

Who would have thought of a "Reuben Pizza" - oh my gosh, what an amazing pizza. Corned beef, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing on a wood fired pizza crust. It was fabulous and is apparently one of their regular specials. We also had the "Chef's Special" which was also excellent, along with the Parmesan fries and the Blue Cheese fries. Great beer choices, a good wine selection and excellent service. They don't take reservations and it can be a long wait sometimes, but it is well worth it! Leave them your phone number and go shopping, they will either call or text you when your table is ready.
