We spent a long weekend here last spring, and my thoughts about it are mixed, though mostly positive. On the negative, we booked at the last minute, and were told there was nothing available but their most expensive suite. We took the suite, which was way too large for the two of us though still a reasonable price, and I would have no complaints except that the entire 4 days we were there, we only saw one other unit being occupied! So we were left to wonder why we couldn't have had one of the less expensive, smaller, and more suitable units. Also on the negative, our unit faced the main road but there was no way to completely cover the windows in the main room, which had fixed, partially open curtains. My husband thought we were being "looked in on" from the main house (which our unit was attached to), but I am not too sure about that. We were also severely bothered by an outgassing electric oil air freshener that had been installed, but once we located it and put it out of the room, it was not a problem (we did mention it to the management.) On the positive side, and there were many positives, the place is beautiful and had every thoughtful amenity we could have asked for. We had the largest suite with a full kitchen, and you could have walked in with a bag of groceries and just started cooking. Every pot, plate, pan, utensil, was provided. There wasn't one thing I needed that weekend that I didn't find there (which made me sorry I'd carted down all the kitchen junk I did!) The bedroom was equally well equipped with radio, spare bedding, lamps, etc. All was clean and well ordered. The TV had cable and there were videos and a VCR if you were so inclined. There was also a stack of board games and lots of books. Two comfy loungers and a futon style sofa made this a suite you didn't want to leave! This would be a fabulous place to stay if you had a few kids or relatives with you, but it was too large for just the two of us. The outdoors was also gorgeous and well tended and you just had to walk out your door a hundred feet or so and you could plop down at a picnic table or on a chaise lounge by the water. The owners were solicitious and couldn't have been kinder. If we had been able to get a smaller unit, or at least close the curtains in the larger one, I would have given this place a "ten". As for our experience, it is still an "eight" plus, and I would certainly go back!
