“Stayed in presidential suite night before wedding and wedding night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2009

My wife and I stayed in the presidential suite on our wedding night (she stayed in the same room with her Mom and Bridesmaids the night before the wedding). We got a good deal on this room because we had some out of town guests who stayed there for a few nights, so the rate was pretty reasonable. The room itself was large and very clean, had 1.5 baths and a separate living room. The room was large enough to accommodate 8 women getting ready for the wedding and the 4 make-up/hair people (12 total). The pool and fitness center were very nice.
Laura the sales manager was very helpful as we were planning our stay and coordinating with out of town guests. However other staff was not quite as helpful. We were originally told the suite had a pullout couch. Upon checkin we discovered the couch was not a pullout. When my wife asked about that, they argued with her and said it was a pullout couch. After going back and forth they did agree to bring one roll away bed. Breakfast was terribly over priced (20.00) a person. Parking was a pain, as there is no free parking for guests, (12.00 a day). This made it very difficult when we people would come and visit.

Our family stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and we were very pleased with the hotel. Evidently it was renovated sometime fairly recently after being reflagged a Hilton (was a DoubleTree). Everything seemed fairly new--especially in the rooms, the part that matters most! Clean, comfortable beds. New carpeting and furniture. New bathrooms. All a pleasure.

There is an indoor/outdoor swimming pool WITH LIFEGUARD ON DUTY that was fantastic for my kids (6 and 8) but was being enjoyed by lots of teens and 20-somethings too.

The staff was gracious and helpful.

We had considered staying downtown. But this was a lot less expensive and more enjoyable for our kids.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2009

My family stayed four nights in this Hilton at the end of March. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly. He spent at least 5 minutes to find me two quite rooms as I requested. As soon as we entered our room, a crib (as we requested) was carried in.

It is a beautiful hotel with walking distance to the metro station. Whole Foods, Giant, CVS and tons of restaurants are just within 1-2 miles range. We paid $12 per night for parking. The only thing I can complain about is the AC/heating system in the room was pretty noisy, as well as the vent in the bathroom.

But overall, I like this hotel!

Located outside of D.C., but steps from a metro station.
Clean rooms.
Hotel is close to a several malls and plenty of restaurants.
Was able to get to hotel from the airport using the metro which was sooo cheap.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2009

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in February 2009. Upon check-in we were told that they had us in a room with 2 queen beds but promptly switched us to a room with a king sized bed facing the inside of hotel (atrium). We went up to the room and noticed that it was right outside of the elevator, thus very noisy. The lady at the front desk switched us to another room away from the elevator and the room was great. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on, as were the pillows (there were at least 4 on the bed). Room was large and clean. Bathroom was nice. Had no complaints with the television or lack of channels. Cannot comment on the amenities of the hotel as we really only were there to sleep. Location is very convenient, Metro is a 2 minute walk out the rear of the hotel and there are many restaurants/stores in strip malls very close to the hotel. We got this hotel through priceline for $45/night, which was quite a deal considering the going rate was $150/night. It's the only hotel where I've contacted them after the stay to find out what kind of mattress they had because it was so comfortable. Do not hesitate to stay here.

Thanks for the feedback about your stay in January at Hilton Washington DC/Rockville. We are so glad that the rooms and location were to your liking. However, we do apologize for the service and food provided in the restaurant. I’ve shared our comments with our staff and am taking steps to ensure better restaurant food and service. We’ve also added new flat screen HD TV’s with an expanded channel line up recently. We hope that you will give us another try.

The hotel is well located on the Rockville Pike. You can walk to a shopping center across the street, and 2 minutes away from the Metro station. The room is nice with 2 big beds and top quality bed linen. But it was stuufy and the air-condition was very noisy. The breakfast was not included in the price of the room.
