I have stayed at this hotel several times within the past year and my most recent stay reminded me that I have not commented on it. This review is representative of all of my other stays, which speaks of consistancy by the hotel.
Locale: The hotel is located within a quasi-business park setting. In fact that is the only thing to beware of. If you want to get something to eat, etc then you drive. The locale is full of offices and they all close at, say, 5 P.M. That said, finding some place to eat, etc isn't that hard if you have a Garmin or similar car nav device, but can be daunting if you are without.
This is a very safe area, as I suspect there are more than a few security cameras are looking over the businesses. About the only "bad" thing I can say is that the sign pointing to the hotel is very small. For example, the business associate picking me up the next day during this latest visit had trouble finding the actual hotel, using a personal navigation device. He eventually saw the hotel's sign and referred to it as "very discrete."
A HUGE PLUS for the business traveler lay with this hotel's conveinence to Washington, DC. While in the Shady Grove neighborhood of Rockville, MD, it is actually about a mile from the DC metro. Catch the metro and you can get to most of key points within DC. Plus, the hotel has a shuttle to the metro. Be sure to call if you need a pick up on the return trip.
Hotel Proper: This is a nice business class hotel. Ergo, it has a check in desk, breakfast area and the rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is continental style, which means various breads, cereal, etc, coffee/juice. Not bad, but could be better, as such things go (I stay at A LOT of business class hotels).
Room: The rooms are spacious and are very clean. The bed is very comfortable, with good linens. Further, the climate control works great. Bathroom wise, so far, I have not seen a tub and am suspecting that they only have showers (which is fine by me). The bathrooms are all tiled and the linens are adequate (quality and quantity wise).
Other: The internet connectivity is among the best that I have encountered in a hotel of any class and it is FREE. It is blazing hot fast, comparable to what a business traveler is accustomed to within their home office. It is excellent for downloading big files, such as the latest Powerpoint revision, etc.
The cable TV selection is good too. Some business class hotels have begun to scrimp on cable, which makes catching a good movie or ballgame a bummer when relaxing when on the road for business.
Summary: I'll stay there again (and will probably do so within a month).
