“Good Hotel for visiting DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Arrived later than expected, but hotel was ready for us. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with pastrys, toast/bagels, cold hard boiled eggs and waffle maker, yogurt. Had a shuttle to Shady Grove metro station that came in handy. Shuttle also took us to local restaurants within a mile or 2 radius of the hotel. This hotel has decent rates. Overall, a good hotel to stay at if you are visiting the DC area. Would stay here again.

Not the brightest desk clerk I have ever met (caused much confusion over my credit card payment by telling me I'd been charged twice - which I hadn't).
Comfortable bed, peaceful neighbourhood, good breakfast and a free shuttle to and from the metro station.
Ideal for visiting Washington DC.

Stayed one night visiting local friends. The hotel is reasonable, $103, close in to many businesses, but shabby around the edges. Room smelled very musty, and it might have been coming from the A/C unit! 1st floor windows don't open (better for security that way, I imagine) so I sprayed perfume in the unit. Carpet old and stained; did not go barefoot. No vent in commode/shower room so had some sewer smell that never dissipated. Old bedspreads and curtains. Lots of good towels, though. After 10pm lots of activity in the halls, overhead rooms... seemed like a tour bus of high school kids and international travelers. Floors and walls allowed noise through. Continental breakfast was OK, always welcome. No computer available in lobby. Basic accommodations, not fancy, not new, not shiny... Would stay at an upgraded chain in the future, not here.

Room Tip: No highway noise, only guest noise!

The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the pillow fluffy. The room clean and quiet. The staff was quick with requests for extra towels/blanket. The FREE breakfast was OK but the dining area was too crowded. I only wish they had a larger room service menu from next door...menu was limited. The grocery store and several restaurants were only a few blocks away though and the room comes with a fridge and
Jerry's delivers. I will definitely use them again

We stayed Friday and Saturday night with our diabetic cat. On Saturday we returned from dinner and were unable to enter our room. One of us is also an insulin-dependent diabetic, but when the hotel manager was contacted, we were told that no one would be called out to help until the next morning. Despite our protests, we were put in another room with no clothing, toiletries or medication while the sick cat remained locked in alone all night. After finally getting into the room over 10 hours later, we were expected to pay the full rate?!?! After much discussion, we were comped for one night. Not only did the hotel refuse to refund us the total paid, but the manager never contacted us or apologized. We were told that there was no way to contact the General Manger until Monday (when we would be gone). I do not believe this to be true...they just wanted us to go away! I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed one night and found everything satisfactory. Our room was small but it was all we needed for the time we were there. Walk-in shower curved out into the bedroom - plenty of water pressure. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet, continental breakfast was OK. We'd stay again.

Stayed April 2-4 2012 to visit with friends and family in the area. Very comfortable! Great location. We were out and about mostly but this was fine for sleeping!! Loved the room - cool shower'pod' - large 'circle' that juts out just a tad into the room.
