“Hidden Gem and delicious, too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2012

I've been going to Pizza CS fairly regularly since they opened in Nov. 2011. It is in a strip mall right off Rockville Pike (Route 355) near Pier 1. The owners are genuine guys and they have a good staff working for them.

The pizzas are delicious. Our neighbors, who lived in Naples Italy for 4 years, have said this is the best pizza since they've returned to DC - and they typically visit Pizza CS about once a week.

Pizza CS is decorated with very colorful and cool paintings - including one with a Nintendo Mario & Luigi theme and one with Star Wars characters. The music is always great. But if you don't like it, you could ask Jon to change it - I know he would! They have foosball and also table shuffleboard for more enjoyment.

Pizza CS has 11" pizzas for adults and 7" pizzas for kids. My favorites include Rocket pizza and the Margherita. I've heard the Quattro and Soppresata are great. They serve beer, wine, fountain drinks, and also Italian and American specialty soft drinks. They have very tasty ice cream from JJ Hoffman's Creamery, so if you also opt to buy ice cream you're supporting 2 small businesses!

Friday night, Jon said they are looking into buying outdoor furniture for the summer. Hopefully they'll be able to.

“Great food and friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2012

Pizza was very good and the staff was incredibly friendly. This may turn out to be my new favorite spot for pizza.

“Fresh, fast, outstanding pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

Our new favorite place for pizza. This is thin crust with a large selection of very fresh toppings. Several things are different.
-They only have one size - described as 11 inch but actually a little bigger. They do this because the dough is too delicate to hold up in larger sizes.
-They do not take phone orders. Preparation time, including baking, is only about 5 minutes due to the size and thin crust. This would mean almost all phone orders would be cold when picked up.
- They recommend not preslicing the pizza if for take out so it will travel better. This is mainly for their "red" pizzas. The sauce is crushed tomato that has not been cooked down. If sliced, the juice will bleed through the sides of the crust. Following this recommendatiion, the crust on our red pizza was still in good shape when we got home.
These people really care about delivering a top notch product and it is a much better (and cheaper) option for pizza than the new Matchbox across the street. Our only quibble is that the roasted peppers were mostly green and therefore more bitter than we prefer.
