We stayed here for a wedding and we had a really good experience, staff was very friendly they allowed us to check in early since we had to leave NYC due to Sandy. Room service was great and friendly. One thing I didnt really like was the breakfast, not good at all! In place we were going to First Watch and their breakfast was out of this world especially their waffles.

The Crowne Plaza, Rockville, Maryland was immaculate.
The front of house & bar/restuarant staff members were all extremely warm, welcoming and always ready to assist at the drop of a hat!
THANK YOU!
The shuttle service was prompt and a massive bonus - catered to local shopping & business areas.
THANK YOU!
Room service & cleanliness was spot on - my only observation was (and this is only because I love my coffee...) I would have loved more instant coffee and condiments.

THANK YOU CROWNE PLAZA, ROCKVILLE for making my stay comforable and memorable!

-Rolien van Heerden- (ROOM 207)

Room Tip: Rooms facing toward the outside of the building are quieter.

Good location right next to highway but still quiet. Clean with good-sized room. Front desk helpful and welcoming. A good choice for hotel in this price category. Has ton of room for events but didn't see any events while i was there -- could make it noisy though i suppose.

Room Tip: face outward

This hotel is in a quiet commercial area of Rockville. Close to the highway, and to the offices around, but a drive if you are going anywhere else.
The hotel is nice, rooms are comfortable and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
We had a one bedroom suite which was spacious, comfortable and lovely. While the closet was huge, the bathroom was tiny, as there was barely any room to put all our stuff. The lighting in the room isn't so great either. Felt very dark.
You should note that there are interior and exterior rooms in this hotel. The interior rooms look over the hotel atrium where there is a restaurant below and an open event hall as well as hallways leading into closed event halls. The weekend we spent there, there were non-stop events at the hotel (which is a great sign, I think!). We returned to the hotel with our young children on Saturday night at 11pm and there was a party downstairs with music, people talking loudly, etc. Parties end at midnight. Everything quieted down soon after midnight.
There were 3 things that disappointed:
- on our second day we spent the whole day out and about, returning at 3:30 pm to get ready for a family event that night only to find that our room was not yet tidied up. When we called the front desk their excuse was that they were sold out the night before. Not my problem.
- My kids found a pair of Q-tips on our first morning at the hotel in a corner of the room (not ours!). The Q-tips were still there the next day... and the next.
- $20/night for a roll-away bed!! We thought that was a little extreme

Room Tip: Choose an exterior room!

Checked into this hotel on 10/16/2012 and found hotel staff to be exceptional. Kasthelin was extremely helpful and offered great tips on the surrounding area and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay.

Hotel located in quiet suburban location within an estate of upmarket offices. Good transport facilities and once metro reached at Shady Grove a 30 min trip in central Washington. Hotel very clean and professionally run. Outside rooms are better as you do have the benefit of natural daylight, as mentioned by some other reviewers. However, I had to swap my allocated outside room (problem outside hotel control) and was put on an inside room. Though darker and looking into the atrium was still very good. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The Crowne, Rockville DC met our needs perfectly as tourists. The parking was free and the shuttle service to the metro was excellent. The metro station is only a 5 minute commute and the drivers totally accommodating and friendly We never waited more than a minute for a single ride. The metro ride into DC was 40 minutes. This very nice hotel is clean and the staff, super friendly, and rate was most reasonable. Breakfast was a bargain! This was a perfect alternative to the super expensive hotels in and near DC.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the outside, if you like natural light,
