Where to begin?? Let’s put it this way we made reservations for a future stay before we left! We have stayed at B & B’s from Newport, RI to Savannah, GA and we are very lucky that we have had a real nice stay at each one but this place really topped our list. For us this was the first B & B we stayed at that was more than just a house, this was a beautiful property spreading out over 70 acres with a pond and a dock out to the Chesapeake. You have options to stay in the main house or a cottage. We chose a cottage and liked it so much we booked two additional cottages for a future stay next year. The innkeepers, Joanne and Jim are wonderful, they are pleasant, warm and wonderful cooks!! Breakfast was awesome both mornings we were there and what I really liked is they had breakfast with us which made it really nice. One evening I made my way back to the main house to grab a few brochures and bumped into some other guests and we ended up talking for over two hours in the den and before you knew it another couple joined us. I would not do this place justice if I didn’t mention the “welcoming committee” the yellow and choc lab that were waiting for us at the door were great(we have a chocolate at home) these two set the standard for “relaxing” and made for good examples on just laying around and enjoying the property. Oh and there is a Jack Russell Terrier and puppy that is just awesome and so much fun. We used two bikes from the property and took a great bike ride to a wildlife refuge down the road, did some hiking around the refuge too. The town of Rock Hall is really nice too and just a mile up the road. Can’t wait to return!!

Room Tip: Its really up to you but we enjoyed the Pond Cottage but I am sure the main house would be just as w...

I booked our stay at The Inn at Huntingfield Creek for Rock Hall's Pirate and Wenches weekend.

Rock Hall is buzzing with activities during this weekend and we really enjoyed the activities when we were in town, but it was so nice to escape back to the serenity of the Inn when we were ready to relax. The Inn at Huntingfield Creek was less than two miles from town, but seemed like it was a world away.

Jim and Joanne were wonderful hosts. Their daughter Amy was such a sweetheart and we really enjoyed talking to her and Andreas. Although I am not really a "dog person", our K-9 hosts, Java, Jezebel, Gracie and their new puppy Maggie, were such a pleasure to be around. These dogs were so relaxed and well behaved.

When we arrived, Joanne greeted us and showed us around. Our room was clean, roomy and the bed was sooo comfortable.

We stayed for two nights. The first morning, we had gone down for breakfast at 8:30am; it was nice to meet and talk with other guests. Breakfast was scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, chicken- pineapple (I think she said pineapple) sausage which was amazing, potatoes, a variety of fruit, toast and jelly and delicious muffins. By the time that we had finished breakfast and returned to our room, our bed was made, our room was cleaned and we had fresh towels.

This morning our breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, maple sausage, toast and jelly, a variety of fresh fruit and the Inn's famous, Very Berry Breakfast Bread Pudding. They have posted their recipe on their website and I plan to make it and serve it at my next brunch!

We felt very relaxed and welcomed at the Inn at Huntingfield Creek. We loved the pool, we loved the grounds and we loved being close to town, without being right in town. The complimentary beer, wine, soda and bottled water was a nice touch.

I would recommend this to couples that want to get away and relax in a tranquil and romantic setting.

After three long hours of trying to find a weekend getaway, we stumbled upon The Inn and immediately fell in love with the pictures and what it had to offer. Completely a dream come true! The Inn is set back on 70 acres of beautiful lush trees, complete with a field of sunflowers, soy plants, lavender, and butterfly gardens. The Zen Cottage which was beyond our expectation. The cottage was fully equipped with kitchen amenities, two ceiling fans, full sized jacuzzi whirlpool tub, IPod docking station, and full King bed. It also had two oversized Adirondack chairs overlooking an endless field of soy plants which would sway in the breeze. At night you can just sit out there with a glass of wine looking up at the vast universe of stars which seem to be so vibrant at night here. The back side of the Inn overlooks a portion of the bay where you can watch the Ospreys soar overhead and watch the swans float on by. There is also a wonderful salt water pool just a short walk from the cottages which is the epitome of relaxation!

Jim and Joanne were wonderful hosts! Joanne arranged for massages from a local masseuse who was beyond amazing! Each morning they would prepare a delicious homemade breakfast with fresh eggs, orange infused french toast, fresh fruit, chicken-apple sausage, smoked bacon, and freshly brewed coffee. You couldn't help but go back for seconds! Joanne also helped arrange a sailing trip with Captain Mark on his 40 foot sailboat on the Chesapeake. Jim and Joanne also helped in recommending a few local spots for dinner which were spot on! They truly welcome you as part of their family.

If you are looking for a true oasis getaway, filled with relaxation, then this is the B&B for you! Book without hesitation! I cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: The Zen Cottage was perfect! the backside overlooked the soy fields and were just so relaxing to loo...

We recently stayed 2 nights at the inn. We are pretty experienced with B&B's and we would rate this inn as one of the best. We rate an inn as excellent when the accommodations are exceptional, the inn is spic and span, breakfast is good, owners make you feel welcome and they care about the small details. Jim and Joanne provided all of these. Within minutes of arriving at the inn and at our request due to the weather forecast, Joanne had changed our arrangements for a sunset sail cruise and we were off and sailing! The inn is large and roomy with plenty of space in the common areas. Our room was in the main inn and was spotless. The king size bed with crisp sheets and very comfy comforters provided a great nights sleep. The pool area is very relaxing and the gardens are beautiful. We walked some of the property and spent time sitting on the dock watching the wildlife. Complimentary beverages are provided and includes soda, water, wine and beer. Jim and Joanne will provide suggestions and directions for dinner. We were pleased with both restaurants they recommended. Breakfast was one of the most enjoyable we had at a B&B. Food was excellent. We were able to share breakfast with 2 other couples and Jim and Joanne. The conversation just flowed and it was such fun getting to know one another. You can tell that Jim and Joanne truly love Rock Hall and enjoy running their inn. They could not have been more welcoming. We would highly recommend this inn.

We had a delightful mini-break at the Inn. Joanne and Jim were kind enough to greet us when we arrived late Friday and show us to our room. Trumpington was the perfect accomodation for the 3 of us providing comfort and ample space. The community breakfast was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the company of the Inn guests. So, what do folks talk about when you don't know each other? Oh, just about everything. :)
We explored the property with Java (Joanne and Jim's trusted pet) with awe. It is just beautiful!
My husband and I will be staying for a longer weekend in September and cannot wait. We have already talked about our list of places to go and things to do. You truly need a good 1/2 day just to caputure all the beauty of Eastern Neck.
A special thank you to Joanne, Jim and all of their staff. You can tell their heart goes into everything at the Inn!

We just returned from our 2nd time at this wonderful inn. The accommodations and amenities exceeded our expectations. The breakfast, especially Sunday morning was great. This is an exceptional place for couples and families both. It offers the best of both worlds. We stayed in the Zen cottage which worked well for us as we wanted separate sleeping spaces. The pool and garden which had butterflies galore was a great addition.

My wife and I stayed at The Inn at Huntingfield Creek for two days last week. I had stumbled on to the Inn a couple years ago when I painted their barn while in a painting competition in nearby Chestertown, MD. What can I say other than it is about perfect and that my wife wants to sell our home and move down into one of their cottages. The Inn is homey and comfortable and has all the amenities. Innkeepers Jim and Joanne Rich easily make you feel like you're family and that they're glad to see you. Joanne is a fabulous chef and her breakfast is an award winner. The large den invites nesting and browsing through travel magazines, enjoying the garden view and complimentary wine. Our cottage had everything..... see through gas fireplace, hot tub, flat screen TV, most comfortable king bed, deck, kitchenette, even our own kettle grill, complete with a can of briquettes, fuel and matches.
Surrounding the inn and cottages are fields of lavender and sunflowers. The barn is finished with wide doors and a chandelier..... perfect for wedding receptions, etc. A short walk down the path takes you to the adirondack chairs on the docks on the creek leading to the Chesapeake. Great for a sunset lounge. Back at the cottage is the salt water pool surrounded by the flower garden and herb garden Joanne uses in her kitchen.
Jim and Joanne arranged for our sunset cruise a very short drive away at the Rock Hall marina, with most personable Captain Mark and his first mate/wife, Suzanne. Just four of us on his magnificent sailboat sailing lazily on the Bay, with Suzanne's margaritas. Then steamed Maryland crabs on the deck at Waterman's topped off our trip.
It is pretty obvious Joanne and Jim are in this with a love and passion for what they do. This is a real treat for anyone looking for that getaway and memorable experience.
(Oh, when you go, check out my pastel painting of the barn and garden on the wall in the dining room.)
