“Great German/Bavarian Food, Family Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

We love dining at Prost, where it's always welcoming and the specials are amazing. The crab schnitzel is a favorite. Renata makes the soups from scratch and they are all wonderful. The sausages are also all handmade and cooked to order. We usually have to take a portion of our dinner home because the portions are so large.

Sometimes the service has been a bit slow, so we rated that as a very good. The servers are always quite cheery, but because they are busy sometimes our glasses sit empty for a bit longer than they should.

We love Prost and frequently dine there, especially on special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.

“Recommended and not disappointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

A friend mentioned this restaurant today at lunch. We detoured out of our way from VA to try. We hardly ever try appetizers, however the Fliegende Schweinchen sounded too good to pass. Four "pig wings" served with a slightly spice sauce. Delicious. I had the special Gumby Schnitzel which had broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, bacon in a light cream sauce over Schnitzel. Hubby had the Weiner Schnitzel. Both were tender and flavorful. The red cabbage and the German potato salad were among the best we've had. The German wine and beer selection was extensive. Good selection of desserts. We tried a vanilla cream cake, fresh and light. The staff worked together to ensure customers were taken care of. Melissa was our primary waitress. She was knowledgeable about menu and assisted with our food decisions. We definitely will be taking the detour again. The Prost is worth the stop.

“German fast food at best”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

We decided to give Prost a second chance and again were let down. I lived in Germany for nearly twenty years and have gotten better food at the gas stations along the autobahns. My wife ordered schnitzel and it was a disaster, deep fried and then microwaved to order with what tasted like instant gravy. The sausages and potato salad were okay at best. The beer, they could not mess up and was of course good. Do not waste your time on the food.

“Great German Restaurant in Port Deposit, MD.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

We drive up from Baltimore (about 50 miles) just to try this place. We are not disappointed.

The food is fantastic and the prices are great. The beer cheese soup is a must. We were also impressed with the beer menu which claims to have 80 varieties (to be honest, I didn't count) of German beers. The portions are huge so you may want to share.

The accordion player made the atmosphere lively and was not intrusive.

“A must try!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

Being of German descent and living in Germany for a year, I can appreciate the authenticity of this restaurant. The food is delicious with hearty portions. I ordered jager schnitzel and my husband had sauerbraten. It was just like I remember from Germany. The service was very fast and friendly. We totally enjoyed the experience and will be back to try more menu items. Keep up the good work!
