the hotel is at a great location and great deck area and music and bar. The rooms look rundown and needs upgrade. compared to other hotels in the area the rooms are bit narrow. The swimming pool pics shows the kids fountain and stuff but it was not there in the pool. pool is definitely small for the amount of guests in the hotel. servers, room service, housekeeping are very friendly. we had asked for adjoining rooms but did not get them when we reached there. the kids play area is nice, but need to be cleaned. this is a family resort and more elderly crowd was seen.
The price was definitely too high for the amenities given. The SPA was rundown and the Sauna room was not hot at all. they have the eucalyptus room which only had a red light but did nothing.

I apologize that you expecting the kids' umbrella in the pool. I'm not sure where you saw that picture, but I was under the impression we had pulled them all. If it wouldn't be an inconvenience, please message me with where you saw the erroneous photo.

We have been renovating the rooms on an ongoing basis during the off season, and will continue to do so.

We stayed here based on the fact that they are pet friendly, and were one of the few hotels still available, since it was a holiday weekend. The first nights price was way too much at $300+ a night, plus a $40 pet fee. At check in we decided to stay a second night, getting a price for that was a bit difficult, as the girl checking us in had to ask 2 different people. We were given a price of $199 plus the $40 pet fee. I'm honestly not sure if that is what we were charged or not, the bill summary they give you at check out is a bit confusing. I will have to investigate it further. Also, I'm not quite sure why this is considered a resort? There was a restaurant on site, a fitness center, and pools. That's not my definition of a resort, but whatever. When we ate at the restaurant, we wanted to have the bill charged to our room acct, but the waitress told us we could not because we didn't have a room charge card. Obviously, when checking in the girl did not give us it. Also, the hotel has 14 floors, and only 3 elevators. As you can imagine, there were times they we had to wait and wait for an elevator. Sometimes when an elevator did come it was already full, causing us to have to wait once again for another elevator. Another issue we had was dogs barking in the middle of the night. Obviously we have a dog ourselves, but she does not cause a bunch of noise. When my husband called the front desk to make them aware of the barking, they told him they'd send security up. I'm not sure that they did, because the barking continued. Our dog found a pair of socks in the room, that were not ours. You would think that housekeeping would have found those while cleaning. The beach behind the hotel is very nice. Although, it is quite far from the boardwalk. But there is still many stores within walking distance. But, do not stay here and expect to be able to walk to the boardwalk within minutes. We may stay here again, if the price was lower. In my opinion, the room is worth $175 max per night.

It seems as though you had mixed feelings about your stay at our hotel. A resort is defined as "a place to which many people go for recreation, rest, etc." It is generalized as all encompassing as well. We have many guests that come to the Clarion Resort, eat in our venues, enjoy entertainment in the club, the pub, and on the grill, use the pools, health spa, hot tub, and just never feel the need to go anywhere else.

We are 5 miles from the boardwalk. The bus stops out front of our hotel, and you can ride all day for $3. I'm not sure what your situation was regarding the room charge card, but I do know that in order to charge things to your room, you are required to leave a credit card number for incidentals with the front desk. If you did leave a credit card, then someone in your party could have gone by the front desk to pick up a room charge card.

It can be frustrating to wait for the elevators, and I do apologize, but unfortunately, at check-in and check-out times, the elevators are very busy.

I do hope that you will give us another chance to serve you. We hope to see you again soon.

Beautiful view of ocean and bay. Lovely room. Nice comfortable bed. We had a king room. Great location. Helpful staff. Wonderful. They had a lot of dogs there though... so I guess they are pretty pet friendly.

We stopped at ocean city overnight. We decided to stay at the Clarion because of a review. They only had an ocean view room available. We took it. The room was very nice, clean and a nice view of the beach. They described a balcony. It was more of a step out with a side view of the beach. Could not even put chair on it to enjoy the breeze. The air conditioning was a unit that was not that strong. The hotel itself needs updating,fixing and some areas for adults only quiet areas.
They seem to cater to the young who like to drink and party.
The restaurant was good. I felt bad for the waitress, she was all by herself on a busy night.
The parking was terrible. If you could not find a spot in the main parking, you had to go across a double 4 lane highway and park and drag your luggage across it.
The room was 347.00 (discounted through expedia), I would only pay about 150.00.
It served its purpose as a stop over, but I would not stay again.

I'm very sorry that you weren't pleased with your overnight stay. Our balconies are standing balconies, and described as such in all our literature and websites. The way the balconies are situated, you can see both the ocean and the bay.

There are 206 parking spots adjacent to the hotel, and 160 across the street in our satellite lot. For future reference, and for future guests, while you may have to park across the street, you never have to carry your luggage across. Guests can pull into the breezeway, unload their luggage (with the assistance of a bellman if you'd like it), and either leave it with the bell stand, or leave someone in your party with it while someone else parks across the street. To get to the lot, simply turn right out of our hotel lot, get into the left turn lane, make a u-turn when the light changes and pull into the satellite lot on the right hand side. When walking back to the hotel, please walk one block north to the traffic light and cross over in the designated crosswalk area.

We found the Clarion clean, comfortable and convenient. The property is truly pet friendly with a small fenced area of grass for business. Dinner in Horizons was excellent. The room itself was small but the beds were very comfortable and very clean. There were plenty of towels. The only real problem was that the main AC unit fan was very loud but didn't seem to provide much air circulation. The bathroom fan was a waste of time. The fantastic staff made up for any room shortcomings. This was the most pleasant, proficient staff that I've encountered in a long time. Every time we encountered a staff member we were greeted with a smile and pleasant conversation. Good job.

This is a dated hotel in need of major renovation. They come across as a modern beach resort. That would of been true if this was the 1970's. This property is in need of major renovation to be demanding the 300 dollar per night prices they charged me. The room was falling apart and had a very unique awful odor. It was not mildew. I can not relate it to anything I know. The room was not even worth $100 a night. The property management ignored our complaints and refused to take any action. The bottom line is to avoid this property. There are better properties at a more reasonable rate closer to the boardwalk in Ocean City. This was a totally disappointing stay. The on-site restaurant horizons should be avoided for the price they charge. When we visited the restaurant for their seafood buffet the food was not at Temperature. It was cold. Parking at this property is a nightmare. There are very limited spaces close to the hotel. They have an Overflow parking lot across the street that is not very easy to access. To access this overflow lot in a safe manner you have to go one block to a crosswalk. If you don't it's like playing a live game of Frogger dodging the heavy traffic on the Boulevard just to get to the property. I will never visit this property again when in Ocean City.

I'm sorry that you were not pleased with our hotel. We are constantly making renovations in the off-seasons, most recently new lobby furniture, new carpeting, new draperies, and have added flat screen TVs in every guest room. If you would, please message me the name of the manager who would not address your concerns. That is never appropriate behavior and we certainly would never condone that type of attitude.

There are 206 parking spaces adjacent to the hotel, with another 160 in the satellite lot. It's true that you need to walk just one block to the traffic light, and we encourage all guests using that lot to do so. It's very unsafe to cross any highway anywhere without doing so at the legal and appropriate crosswalk.

Our stay at the Clarion was comfortable. Although the hotel is outdated and in desperate need of a renovation, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The balcony is a joke. There is only standing room for one person.

The Clarion had plenty of amenities. The breakfast at Horizons was excellent as was the service. The drinks at Lenny's were good but a bit pricey. The food at Lenny's was average and over priced. I guess you are paying for the convenience of walking in from the beach for lunch.

We didn't use the indoor pool but my daughter loved the outdoor one. You could get service from Lenny's at the pool too and the wait staff was excellent! As with the rest of the resort, both pools could use a facelift.

Overall we had a nice stay. The only down side is the price. For the outdated state of the hotel I just can't justify paying upwards of 250 per night.

I do want to to point out that our balconies are standing balconies only, and they are advertised as such, on our website, and in all of our literature.
