We try many places in OC so that we can provide a nice list of options for our rental guests. When we saw Abbey when going to Northside Park we knew that we had to try it as everybody loves a good burger. It is hard to spot from Coastal Highway, but turn on 127th and there it is. As some folks have mentioned the décor is a little bland. Funny thing is that I don’t eat the walls. As long as the place is clean and in good repair I could care less about the color palate of the restaurant. We were promptly seated and a highchair arrived at the same time as we arrived at the table. The server was attentive and explained the menu and the “build your own burger” option. We opted to order three of their sandwiches directly off the menu. Wife ordered the Philly burger, me the lamb burger and our daughter the crab cake sandwich. The two burgers were cooked spot on. Both were generous in size and had great flavor. Our daughter commented that her crab cake was one of the best she has ever had. (She’s 10 so take that how you want it). I found her sandwich to have a decent amount of crab and the flavor was good. Did I mention that they have a great beer menu?
All in all we will definitely recommend Abbey to our guests. The restaurant is family friendly. The service and food were good. The “build your own burger” menu appeals to folks who may be picky eaters. The prices are reasonable. The beer menu appeals to daddies who wish they left their family back home.
