“Good crabs - that's what it's about”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

I really don't understand some of the other reviews - why go to a crab house to eat cheesesteak or, bbq ribs ?!?

Higgins does crabs. AYCE crabs or combos with shrimp and other things. Yes, the AYCE crabs are small - everybody's AYCE crabs are small. But the Friday night we were there they also offered a seperate AYCE large crabs & corn - and they were mighty good crabs!

Service is good if not great but is very friendly.

“great place to eat ayce crabs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

food and service was wonderful. Crabs were a little small at first but when they saw they had some serious crab eaters they brought out more at a time and larger crabs. Great for the price!

“Great for Crabs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

Great place for Crabs. I have eaten in a few times, but mostly call ahead to have crabs steamed and ready for pick-up. They provide the brown paper too! They usually have a selection of sizes and prices are competitive for the resort area. The restuarant is nothing fancy, a typical crab house. But if you are looking to sit and pick crabs and bring them home, Higgins is a good choice.

“OK Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

If you want a lot of food for a lot of money, eat here. They do pile on the food but you do pay for it. The all you can eat items start around $23. Cheaper sometimes with specials. The snow crab was a bit watery, the scallops where good, the lobster tails were the best for the price, about $35. They were a fair price and tasted good and were done right. Seating and atmosphere is your basic all you can eat kind of place. Don't dress up too might as you might get hit with flying debris while others are smashing away at their snow crabs and blue crabs with mallets. They only serve the much smaller snow crab legs, not the big king crab legs. There is a big difference in taste and size. Service was prompt and basic. The food did come out at the right temperature. If you ordered from the all you can eat items, they did make sure you got more as soon as you needed it. This is an Ocean City stable for many years and many people really like going here. Its not a fancy sit down and eat kind of place if that is what you are looking for.

“How can a place s**k so bad?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

We were staying right across the street from Higgins, and with all the crab signs and big pictures of crabs plastered all over the outside of the restaurant, I went against the recommendation of staying away given by 2 hotel staff members and went in anyway, even though my friend was digging her heels. There weren't many negative reviews on tripadvisor when I was scouting out crab places, and we had just arrived, and I WANTED CRAB! It was early afternoon and the place was practically empty. The AYCE crab prices were so much higher than other places I had seen, and since there weren't many people in there, I opted for a crab cake sandwich instead. My friend had a cheesesteak. The crabcake was OK, but tiny, on a stale bland dollar store roll. My friend's cheesesteak was so ultra-greasy that the roll was saturated with grease and barely edible. I had water and she had a soda. The total was almost $40.00!!!!!!! How they stay in business is beyond me.
