“Do not stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We booked this motel in advance based on its location, amenities and price. When we arrived we were so upset. The website was so misleading. The good reviews are obviously exaggerated. The place was awful. We stayed only because we could not get out of our reservation but we were so afraid to touch anything in the room. We had to ask for clean sheets immediately, after checking them we saw they were stained and had hairs on them. The staff was rude. Obviously everyone else staying there felt the same way because nobody stayed in their rooms. The patio was filled with people all day and night which made sleeping at night impossible. It smelled musty with a blanket of lysol which made it hard to breathe. I would never recommend this motel to anyone. We had fun in Ocean City, MD and got some amusement laughing at how stupid we were to stay in such a bad motel. It is a shame that the owners have such a great location and run such an awful establishment. One thing we found too late was youtube videos. Type in oceanic hotel mattress video.

This hotel is amazing for a few reasons... one is the price! Wow you can stay here for a week what it costs to stay some of the other places for a weekend. We find ourselves coming back to this hotel often mainly because of the low cost but also because of the location. Every side of the Oceanic has a beautiful view of the bay. The best part is a short walk along the bay and your on the boardwalk without ever crossing a street. They have such a peaceful little spot away from the boardwalk but close enough that you won't miss any of the action! The rooms are small but that's the only complaint I'd have, the staff are some of the nicest people in Ocean City and everything is clean. The parking is easy and the pool is fantastic. We've stayed here many times and we'll be back again and again.

Our family have been coming here for more than 20 years. Hubby loves to fish and our kids when they were younger would always have a good time. Now that we have grandkids, the traditions are carrying forth to them,,,the older ones love the pool and the closeness to the beach and boardwalk. We feel safe with our younger one to play with the other kids, ride her bike, play on the inlet beach, and on the kiddie outdoor playsets. The staff is always more than helpful and cheerful. Housekeeping staff, esp. Beverly has always met our needs and does a wonderful job keeping our rooms clean. I recommend this hotel to those who want to be close to the action,,,but not stay in the middle of it,,,those that love to fish,,,and those that love to watch the water, boats, and at times the dolphins that come into the inlet,,,and also the horses and ponies over on Assateague Island,,,I guess you can tell that we just love coming here,,,and will continue to come till we can't come no more.

Room Tip: Patio rooms are great for just 2 people, and only to cleanup and sleep in,,,very small,,,larger rooms...

The title says it all.. Location. Location. Location.. This hotel has been a choice of ours while visiting OCMD for the past 6 plus years.. The location is superb.. If you enjoy fishing and jetskis you can't get any closer than this and the boardwalk is a few steps away.. The rooms are a bit on the "older side" so if you are looking for "glitz and glamour" this may not be the place for you. The rooms are very clean and you have several room layout options to suit your preference.. Joyce and the hotel staff are very pleasant, friendly and accomodating.

We have stayed at the Oceanic many times over the last several years. It is very convenient for those who love to fish or for those who just want to sit on the beach or boardwalk. If you are looking for glamour this is not the place for you.... It is an older motel but the rooms are clean. We stay in the larger rooms and have had 4 adults and a baby, with plenty of room. We stayed there 3 times this year alone. Long weekend getaways. Last trip being in Oct 2012. The office staff is professional, polite and extremely friendly. They make great coffee as well, always hot and fresh 24/7.... The housekeeping staff is wonderful especially "Alice." Just loved her, always pleasant and friendly. Look forward to coming back next year. Just wish they stayed open all year round.....

Room Tip: If you want extra room reserve one of the larger rooms

If you're looking for glammer, this might not be the place for you. But if you are a fisherman looking for a room just to sleep in, it's perfect. Our room was small with two double beds, small bathroom a fridge and t.v. When you walked out of the room, you are looking right at the inlet. Walk out and you're ready to fish. There are larger rooms available. You have free access to the fishing pier. They have anything you need. Rental rods, bait {frozen and live}, tackle and free advice on what to use and what's biting. We spent all of our time on the pier. We caught flounder, puppy drum, blue fish, taug. It wasn't the right time for stripers but they do catch them from the pier. When we arrived they gave us a 20% off coupon for Harrissons raw bar and restaurant, which you can walk too. The boardwalk is within walking distance. They have coffee in the office in the morning. Everybody at the Motel that I spoke with were very polite, pleasant and helpful. I'm already making plans to return. I just have to figure out what I want to fish for. They also have a very nice pool and free wifi. The sunsets are amazing,
