My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights we did not have resevations so we got one night in one room then had to switch to another room the staff her is great they took all of our things and locked them up while we laid on the beach all day they called our phone when our room was ready no hurry to get there . The balcony was wonderful and the room was outstanding a little pricey but it was a great place to stay right on the board walk.

Great Location! Away from the downtown area but close enough to walk there. Rooms all have kitchens and are spotless. Indoor and outdoor pools however the outdoor pools were closed for the season. Our favorite Hotel in O.C. Md.

Room Tip: We only stay in Ocean front for 10 extra dollars!

We stayed at this hotel probably 7-8 years ago, and were a little skeptical about returning after reading a number of reviews here that said things like "going downhill," "getting tired," etc. etc. But we liked it so much last time we booked it anyway.

Well, I have no idea what those reviewers are talking about. It was just as we remembered it. The oceanfront suites in this place are just outstanding. Large living room (maybe 15x17?) upon entering with a couch, comfy chair, table with 4 chairs and a flat screen TV, then you pass through the full kitchen (bathroom left off the kitchen. Finally, into the quite spacious bedroom, which contains a jacuzzi tub, a king-sized bed and another flat-screen TV, then the sliding glass door to the roomy balcony right above the boardwalk and overlooking the ocean (there's a small table and 4 chairs out there).

Everything was super-clean. Kitchen has everything you need if you plan to cook (we didn't). Even if you don't there's a full sized fridge for left overs, a microwave to heat them up. I should mention the shower: it's huge. Two seperate water controls, controlling three shower heads. Imagine the possibilities.

Unfortunately, when we stayed, the restaurant choices were limited due to many of them not being open yet. Still, we found a good breakfast place a 3 minute walk away (Layton's) and a very good seafood buffet about 7-8 blocks away (Embers). A little pricey but good food, wide selection. There's a Subway next to the hotel. We ordered room service the last night and the food was surprisingly good, especially the Maryland Crab Cakes.

These suites go for about $450 a night in high season. Staying in April, and paying for all nights in advance, we paid $132 a night directly from the hotel's website. A steal, believe me. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to OC.

This is a very nice hotel with a great location oceanfront at 17th street. The only negative areas are associated with each other, the restaurant leaves something to be desired(breakfast) and the indoor pool is an open aired location beside it and it gets cold when you get out of the water.

We loved the awesome room, the great view of the ocean, and the food-we ate the best crab cakes we had all vacation-ate twice at the hotel restaurant-the restaurant staff were friendly.

Unfotunately we had very unhelpful front desk staff when we complained about cigarette smoke that we could smell. It was like we inconvenienced the staff because we were bothered by the fact that someone nearby was smoking......a lot, and the smell came piping in through the vents in our bathroom-6 times on our last night-we called the front desk and the best they could do was offer to move us or spray the area-it was worse because they had had the complaint before and mentioned it is a problem near bathrooms which must be where the venting is, but they just acted matter-of-fact and not at all like they wanted to stop the practice from happening. I was the bad guy for pointing it out and complaining about it. I wouldn't have known it was a non-smoking hotel until they told me when I called about the smoke-they have no signs except one in the elevator that warns people they will have to pay a fine of a maximum of $25.00 if they light up on the eleveator-its like an invitation to smoke there. It was a real disappointment!

The staff were unfriendly about the free dinner they promise to kids. The sign says food has to be purchased "In restaurant"-does that mean "Dine in?" My wife asked the guy at the hotel bar who was really nice about it and he said it was okay and the free meals were only prohibited for room service-so after swimming (the bar and pool are in the same area) the kids went upstairs with my wife and she sent me down to get the food-i asked the bartender if I could get the free meals-he went and checked, came back and he said "Yes"-I bought the food-had a beer-talked to the guy-he was friendly. Noticed later the bill was a little high-went for food the next night-asked him the same thing to be sure-is it okay to get the two free kids meals-he says yes-forgets to put it on the bill the right away so I mention it and he changes it no problem-i ask "Last night's bill seemed a little high could you have missed the free kids meals?'. He says "Ask them at check out and they'll fix it if there is a problem". I asked at check out and it was a problem and i waited for 10 minutes while the lady worked it out with the restaurant G.M. She was not nice about it and said, "For future reference its only for Dine InI" This was really unfortunate to hear after the bartender told me it was okay-twice. They should get the policy straight.

Also if you're going to be a non-smoking hotel you should enforce it. They fail to post no smoking signs which are required by Maryland law:

C. An indoor area open to the public and every public entrance to an indoor area open to the public where smoking is prohibited in a hotel or motel shall display conspicuously a "NO SMOKING" sign that conforms to the requirements of Regulation .06E of this chapter.

I didn't see any signs and looked closely after we kept having someone nearby smoking. We were not treated well by over half the staff at this hotel-for the ones that were good to us- Thank you!!!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms not near fellow smokers even though its a "smoke free" hotel

My family just came back from a quick trip over spring break. This was my first time at this hotel and I was not disappointed . The rooms were nice and clean and the service was incredible. Everyone we came in contact was very pleasant, professional and accommodating. I got this terrific deal through Priceline and sort of expected a different treatment at check in and was pleasantly surprised of the opposite . One of the best values is kids eat for free and the happy hour. It was a win/ win for us. Happy hour was from 3 to 7 with some great choices for adults and our kids eat at no added cost. The drinks at happy hour were good as well. Having been to Ocean City three times in the last year at different hotels, this by far was the best!!

We usually have a good experience but last Fall we were evacuated at 3AM by a fire alarm connected to poor elevator maintenance. Walked up 15 flights of steps to return to our room. We thought a refund for that night was fair but Hotel management disagreed.

Room Tip: Ocean FRONT, not Ocean view and the higher up the better.
