** Behind Princess Bayside Beach Hotel
** In order to get here, you have to walk under the Princess Bayside Beach Hotel Parking Lot
** You can park your car in the parking garage without getting ticketed or towed
ACTIVITIES
** Paddle Boat
** Paddle Board
** Kayak
** Wind Surf
** Sail
** Eco Tours
** Surf Board
** We rented the stand up paddle boards and had a fabulous time. We were first time paddle boarders. We had a great time and didn’t even fall into the water.
** The instructors were very nice, patient and thorough with their explanations. The instructors were very professional and positive. They made us feel so comfortable.
** The instructors will tell you the best direction to paddle board based on the wind.
** When you are finished, Seacrets is just a block away, so you can walk there and get a drink or a nice meal.
PRICE
** Paddle boarding was $20 for the 1st hour per person. The longer you rent the paddle board, the cheaper the pricing. So, 3 hours is only $40 per person.
** Look for coupons!! This place advertises extensively in all of the local magazines and Visitor Guides. Be sure to look for coupons and cut them out before you go. We ended up paying $15 for paddle board rentals, instead of the usual $20.
** Be kind to your instructors and tip them before you leave. They really work hard and do a great job maintaining the equipment and teaching everyone.
** To see updated rental rates and information, check out their website.
PERSONAL ITEMS
** Try to limit the number of personal items you bring. Only bring the essentials.
** There is an outdoor shelf for you to put your clothes, shoes, water bottle, etc.
** The woman who works the reservations will put your valuable items (cell phone, money, credit cards, wallets, etc.) “in the back”. I’m not sure what that means, but our stuff was all intact when we returned. Still, I would limit the number of valuable items you bring, just in case.
CONCLUSION
** Although it is tucked away, behind a hotel, this really is a nice spot to have some fun with the family.
** Don’t be scared to try something new. The instructors are superb and will help you every step of the way.
We went to 48th Street WaterSports for our first time sailing experience and had an amazing time. from the moment we walked to the time we were finished, nothing but positive, professional staff. The boat was awesome and the instructor was great. He taught us everything we needed to know and even stayed out with us longer than he was supposed to just to make sure we were really comfortable. Thanks for the great time guys. We will be back!!
Friendly staff and great prices for all non powered water sports. The staff was component and very helpful. Many options for rent such as paddleboards, sail boards and kayaks. A great way for the family to spend time on the bay.
Our family of four decided we should try stand up paddle boarding and could not have had a better experience than we did with 48th St Watersports. We received good instruction on the beach, had nice equipment to use for our hour rental, and the route for our paddle was great, along the edge of the bay paddling north up to Fager's Island. Water was calm, Bird Island and the marsh interesting, and seeing the beachfront bars from the water entertaining. The staff good not have been more pleasant and helpful. $5 off coupons per hour available from Sunny Day.
My wife and I wanted to rent kayaks for an afternoon and found this place. Convenient location, plenty of parking, and a helpful staff. They gave a a rout to take that would take the full hour and they were right,
We had a great time at 48th Street Watersports. Beautiful location on a bay beach. We enjoyed standing out on the bay on the Paddle Boards. My daughters were taught to windsurf and loved it. We kayaked into a Marsh area and were able to get close to an egret and watch it fish. The staff are great and provide excellent instructions.
