I picked Sun n Fun for a weekend trip to OC with my sister (we're both in our mid-20s) because it was on the cheaper end of the spectrum and was the only place that I could find that did not have a 3 night minimum (we only wanted to stay for Friday and Saturday night). OC is a ridiculously inflated market and it was sad how little we got for the nearly $180 a night we paid (after taxes and fees). Room decor very outdated and motel very no frills (no toiletries, no phones), though there was a large flat screen TV with premium channels (HBO, Disney). Every room is entitled to one parking spot though there are more rooms than spots in the lot- there is free parking all along the street, though, so we found something without too much searching. Location is pretty good- 2 short blocks to the beach, 2 blocks from end of the boardwalk where you can get the tram.
One recommendation- if you are not there to party, as many of the other guests were, ask for a room on an end. We were a little hesitant when we arrived to check in at 9:30 pm on Friday and saw lots of college age people milling about in front of the rooms, but thankfully our room was on the second floor on a corner, so there was no foot-traffic going past our room. Overall the motel was a place to sleep, so it served its purpose.
